There will no demo released for F1 2010, says community manager Ian Webster from Codemasters.
That could be a bit of a bummer for some poeple, for me, it's pre-ordered for 24/9/10.
Oh well, no need for a second rate codemasters game with GT5 on its way.
No Demo NO BUY!
Well then this game goes right off my radar without a thought of another look.
I use to trust code masters, but after that awful game called fuel, your going to need to show me a demo if you want me to buy this... sorry no Demo then I'll pass... you can keep your game.. .____........___...____ .____||......||.......____|| ||.........___||.......____||
Fuel wasn't developed by Codemasters, just published.
Just rent it somewhere if you want to try it before buying it? What is this "No demo, not buying it"? C'mon... People these days think that everybody owes them. If I was interested in a game, I would go and rent it before buying it if I wasn't sure of the game. But not being interested just because there is no demo available...
@benny yer if kz3 doesnt have a demo would you apply the logic you just used to kz3?
Never on my radar
No room on my radar.
a F1 fan but i won't blindly buy this
Based on DIRT and the epic FAIL of all other F1 attempts, I'm in.
I never buy any game if no demo , even a 5 min demo is better than nothing . Thanks codemasters , that money will goto someone else .
you got me once with flashpoint coddie, I swear that was the only time. CYA
Crikey - dismiss it because there isn't a demo?? You lot are so so harsh! Not saying buy it on release day without knowing a bit more - but hundreds of superb games in this generation alone haven't pre-released a demo. Probably your loss...especially if you're into driving games (in preference to other genres), but each to their very little own!
Now I loved GRID, and I'm a huge racing fan, -but I'll be dam if I'm going to drop $60 bucks on a game with out some sort of amazing reviews or a demo... especially when that company has made some lemons in the past - fuel, flashpoint... and especially when we have so many good games coming out this year, GT5 Nov.. I already pre-ordered Mafia II, might have to get L.A. Noir too.. Kane & Lynch 2 is looking good, and can't wait to see NBA 2k11 getting that or NBA Elite -one of them for sure.. Not to mention Black Ops in Nov... and you can already see that the game budget is getting really tight.. So I can only get really good games.. I much rather put that 60 towards paying for a collectors edition of GT5. .____........___...____ .____||......||.......____|| ||.........___||.......____||
GT5 will be superb eye candy but once again, invisible walls and dumb AI will be it's downfall - even though people have been saying it since GT1! I know - the replays will be near photo-realistic but the gameplay will be beaten. Probably already has been. Allegedly, the AI's been improved, but that was said about GT4. I've only got a PS3 (so no fan-boy), but I think the hype wagon is taking a few people for a ride! I will buy on the merit of trusted reviews, possible rental, gameplay and graphics. So I'm not discounting GT5 like some people are F1 2010! Whatever you purchase, ENJOY!
So in other sims you can drive into the stands? A.I is sub-par in most games, which is why racing 16-32 cars online will take its place. GT has sold a ton of titles... with the same 'downfall' claimed by the people who couldn't out-sell its demo with a retail title. Ferarri chosses it to debut their vehicles. Citroen chooses polyphony to design a car. Nissan chooses them to decide how to manage the vehicles computer interface for their GTR... GT5 is hyped because: Track Editor, Weather, WRC, Nascar, Top-Gear, Detail, First time exotics (in GT detail aka accurate, not like other games with wrong gauges, floating arms, wrong trim), Night, physics, and what we still have yet to find out. As far as hype goes, its all true and in the game. Unlike claiming your models are high res, only to be found out to be lying when the in-game model goes to 1/25 of what the detail was... then tints out windows to hide cockpits.. then can only do 8 cars max..
BOOM... Greywulf scores a headshot!
Name even one of them that was a racing game , i'll even give you one actually , Mario kart , a selling category of its own . THose superb games of this generation often relied on a "gimmick" that captured their audience or already got an established audience . Darksiders ? It had people at "art by joe madureira" and videos showing a gow/dmc/zelda mix .
But I didn't say just racing games? Loads of games evade the press and hype machines, suspicions are raised and they turn out to be superb. GTA's are generally kept under wraps, but define the sandbox game, for example. And F1 is a fairly established audience worldwide, anyway. One of the biggest. Regardless - enjoy your gaming folks. I got games to complete...
most of the console f1 games came from psygnosis/sony . And i remember f1 09 from codemasters getting mixing reviews on some platform , so it's still silly . Here you are a not entirely proven new dev on a long standing franchise , and you dont want to provide a demo . Imo that's the kind of overconfidence that killed Blur
I don't blame em. Who wants to compete with GT5??
Definitely not an F1 game.
Of course not, but if you were to buy 1 racing sim this fall it wouldn't be F1. Unless you were a hardcore fan.
Wouldn't say I'm a hardcore fan, but I've been waiting a long time for a good F1 game. I don't like racing sims, but I love F1 racing. Codemasters can only hope there are more like me. I'm sure it will do better in Europe. F1 isn't that popular in America, Nascar is king here.
A demo always help.
The sounds alone suck... im afraid to waste my money on this game
I would love to play the game but i don't want to spend 60$ on something that I will play for one month and then leave it because of GT5. So a demo would be an excellent idea
What? Do you mean you'd like a demo because you have no intention of buying the game but would enjoy passing your time on a demo until gt5? How incredibly ungenerous of Codies not to give you a freebie, twat. Anyone who says the lack of a demo will persuade them not to purchase the game is obviously not a very big fan of F1 or hasn't been checking out the preview footage of this game. There's no way this isn't gonna be the best F1 title since the Geoff Crammond series.
says me :P
So many better racing games. Anyway, that Need for Speed game is really looking top notch.
hot pursuit looks arcade bubblegum, but i'm getting it for that... and gt5 for the real deal.
So how does it work codemasters ? You claim you wanna revive the "shareware" trend, fine ... but dont you forget part of it's success ? Giving access to demos , the full game with locked fuctions .
No demo, no buy.
mmmkay.. too bad you missed out on red dead redemption and a million and a bunch more excellent titles like fallout 3 then....
This game does not have much of a chance at being successful. No matter how good it ends up being. To rule out a demo is foolish. It is Codemasters so there is about a 90% chance of it needing a dozen patches or so before its playable.
Admit it, most of you refuse to buy it simply because its not a Ps3 exclusive, end of story. If you had it your way, there would be no 3rd party devs at all.
i would buy it if it featured more than just f1... that sport is not very big here...
