Kotaku: This fall's GoldenEye game on the Wii isn't a shot-for-shot remake of the Nintendo 64 James Bond original. It doesn't even use the same maps. But let's compare overlapping locations.
great looking screen from the game : http://www.nintendoeverythi...
I'm really looking forward to this, but I've never played a Wii game online. Will it use the Wii-speak for voice-chat?
Are those on different systems ??? j/k j/k
i don't see a need for comparison here, Wii version would certainly be better.
Yeah the Wii is true processing beast! NOT :p But still the difference from the N64 version is staggering. However on the Wii its still feels like a PS2 1st gen game.. oh well, I will play it anw..
"However on the Wii its still feels like a PS2 1st gen game.. oh well, I will play it anw.." while this is no SMG2 for wii I really don't think a 1st gen ps2 game would have that much detail on the characters. see: http://www.nintendoeverythi... Go look back at the early ps2 games they really don't hold up well.
Consider this scenario: GoldenEye is remade for the PS3 and 360 with a massive graphical overhaul...but with few online capabilities, very few mechanical updates, costing $50, and Bond is replaced. So...who is buying that game? (The Wii gets away with too much.)
Cry moar. and for the record. even IF goldeneye gets redone in 360/ps3 the only one getting pierce brosnan as James Bond wud be the xbox 360 due to MS owning rare studios. however even that is unlikely as Pierce Brosnan himself for some unknown reason wants nothing to do with 007 so really that just leaves Daniel Craig :( .
I remember Pierce Brosnan saying he was ready to do more movies, but the studio wanted a new actor for Casino Royale. I don't know where you heard that, but I bet he'd have done a voice for the video game version of one of his biggest movies. If Marvel vs Capcom 3 can work through all the legal hurdles, I can't see why Brosnan couldn't come back. Maybe they didn't want him to come back, I have no idea. It's weird that they haven't said anything about it.
Can ya link where Brosnan said that?well anywho where i got that idea from was an article a very long time ago dont remember it im afraid. but anywho not sure about brosnan but matter was that this is how ninty middle fingered rare and ms. they went with a remake with daniel craig.
This may be a remake but if the score(soundtrack) of the new game is not the same as the old Goldeneye for the N64 it would feel different. But there are ways to overcome this without needing in game music. It comes down to the audio setup you have and mp3 with the songs of the classic GE songs on it.
wow, if i wanted to play modern warfare 2, i would just play it, why should i have to pay $50 for a modern warfare-ized version of a classic?
It looks good in comparison but then it is comparing a current gen game to a game released 13 years ago on a cartridge based 64 bit system lmao honestly, call me a graphics whore but 1 major factor that puts me off the wii is the graphics. I know the gameplay is there but i find that hard to enjoy with graphics like that. Some games however do pull off graphics on the wii really well however such as super mario galaxy and also that new kirby game, although not really my style looks like it could easily be a high end psn/xbla title
Graphics whore! You wanted someone to call you that so there you go.
true lol but like i say it is about gameplay at the end of the day but i do think graphics also play an important part of the experience, a game needs to be nice to look at whilst you play
Why would I want to buy a full price game which I rinsed about 13 years ago?
Goldeneye on the N64 will always be better than any other bond game regardless.
You're a nostalgiafag!!! (It's ok, people. He's on 4chan.) Agent Under Fire and Nightfire were both better games. They just didn't revolutionize like GoldenEye.
Honestly from what I've seen Goldeneye Wii doesn't look too far off Bloodstone, I don't know if that says more about Bloodstone though.
i think it looks good and Daniel Craig is my favorite bond.
This is Mario kart all over again. The online media kotaku( not real gamers) can not understand why people like this and tries their best to find flaws. I still play quake 3 and you can get it for free now with quake live yet if a version came out on the wii I would buy it. Same goes for this game. It's pretty much got the same game play. I'm not sure what kotakus point is. I guess they should understand some games are not made for you on purpose.
AVGN said that they look the same. xDDDD
If they can bring the feel of the original back while bringing new and responsive controls for the table this will be the my most played for a long time...love the original and regardless of graphics and platforms it's nice to see they are remaking it.
Why on earth would you compare a 64 game to a wii game? Really?
