The Motion Controller Wars

Koku writes: "When the Wii was announced, I was ridiculously confused. I had the same reaction when the DS was announced as well. I ultimately purchased both of them, though, and now I can see the benefits they have to offer. People often say that Nintendo is the leading force in innovation in the world of gaming, and that Sony, Microsoft, and the like all wait to see what they are working on before they make their move. At this particular point in time, that is starting to seem like a very true sentiment. Sony’s Move and Microsoft’s Kinect almost definitely would not have existed without the Wii’s success. It’s as simple as that, but it’s not necessarily a bad thing."

I will not be buying the PS Move, I will get the (Natal) err Kinect

Dragun6193072d ago

Well, if I'm gonna buy any of them then I would buy Move, So far it looks like a solid motion controller with a good solid line up. But I'm not really to keen on motion controls. Prefer just playing my games with a controller.

Jaces3072d ago

Hope you get your $60 worth of that "lean, lean, jump" game. ;D

blumatt3072d ago (Edited 3072d ago )

The Move controller is cheaper AND, just as importantly, the games are only $39.99 instead of $59.99 for the Kinect games. And most people will only buy TWO Move controllers at the most, so don't go saying that "if you buy four then it costs a couple hundred dollars" crap either. MS will HAVE to lower the price of their Kinect games. It's just sad that they're so damn greedy. People will be getting ripped off paying a full $60 for a motion only game. I'm glad Sony is showing a little love in their pricing.

Not getting either one. I already have a Wii.

@ blumatt

Fair enough. Have fun with it.

blumatt3072d ago (Edited 3072d ago )

Well, there's some people like me who ONLY have a PS3 still and want a little something different without having to buy a whole new console. Plus there would only be a couple games I'd want to play on the Wii, so that's why I don't get that instead. Plus, all the Move is going to cost me is the $50 for the Move and I'm buying Killzone 3 anyway to use with it. I already have the Eye and I'll use the left side of the DS3 for the navigation part. It's actually not that uncomfortable to hold it in one hand. Try it.

I'm not sure I will buy any right away...

Ziriux3072d ago

Why not, do you really want to miss out on the launch titles hehe.

Ziriux3072d ago

The move is just like the Wii, Kinect is something new to an extent, but I'm skeptical about that too.

ALFAxD_CENTAURO3072d ago (Edited 3072d ago )

According to the Logic of this kid.

''Kinect is like the Eyetoy, Move is something new to an extent, but I'm skeptical about that too.''

Move is Like Wii
only if you are blind you can't see it

(sony run out of ideas - and they didn't have what to do, so they copied nintendo's masterpiece (when I say masterpiece I mean look at the sales:>)

ALFAxD_CENTAURO3072d ago (Edited 3072d ago )

Good to know you are another Fanboy to Ignore you....

Samus HD3072d ago (Edited 3072d ago )

no no i'm not a fanboy or stuff
I have a PS3 and a 360 (not a Wii)
I was happy when they sad motion controls are coming in ps3
but when i saw it - it is really a Wii Copy (Wii remote + nuchuck + motion+) (i'm not lying it is so) why can't you accept it
that means you are a ps3 fanboy :A:A -4- -4-

BTW i saw the video but Wii launched in 2006 - move 2010 ( if they had it in plan 10 years ago why didn't they release it in ps2 or ps3 :A from the start)

Carnage12903072d ago

It'll all come down to software for me and so far the only thing I really want to do with either is play Dead Space Extraction with Move.
