In today’s market, the gaming industry’s trend has switched from pushing the best possible graphics to providing the most innovative and user friendly gaming experiences. This is evident from the global popularity of Nintendo’s Wii and the recent motion-control creations by both Sony and Microsoft. While this may well be the current path forward, I believe wholeheartedly that we may be nearing the end of home consoles. This is not necessarily because companies will cease their production, but because we are fast approaching a point where improvements would no longer be worth the resources needed to bring them into effect.
