Why Blizzard’s compulsory Real ID scheme may still happen

On 6th July the company announced that its Real ID system, under which first and last names become visible to friends on (in return for treats like cross-game chat), would be compulsory on community forums. As those forums can be read by members of the non-StarCrafting public, and are fully Google-able, this prompted a fair bit of Sturm und Drang."
