Latest footage from Shinji Mikami upcoming Third Person Shooter, Vanquish.
It really captures a "battlefield" intensity. And that's even the first level in the game!
My only concern is replayability, if he has added in things to keep me replaying the game over and over then i am in day 1 for this shit!
i'm not concerned . Look at bayonetta ... it's not particularly lenghty , it's within gow's and dmc's usual length .. But it featured an impressive amount of stuff to unlock and do . Hell rather than looking at bayonetta , just remember the past resident evil games .
The tech behind the gameplay seems incredible with high fidelity everything and that is the problem I'm having with it. The music and Japanese styling with all the Ninja moves could get old real quick. It is far to fast and frenetic. If they changed the music to something less arcadie it would work better. The music sounds like something from Geometry Wars. The scale of the gameplay seems a little small at the moment. It looks like this is running on a high end PC, it really looks that good. I really enjoy TPS's and this is looking awesome at the moment. Can't wait to here more about the story and hopefully see some different locations. Crysis looks incredible as well. They claim the Crysis E3 in game demo is running on a 360 and not on a PC??? Check out the scale and lighting ( 2:35 ) in this clip. This looks like a movie clip!!! http://www.youtube.com/watc...
@Cez of rage: For starters, this is a clip about Vanquish, where you got the need to blather on about Crysis, I have no idea. I gather you're one of those dickless trolls that gets off on handing out backhanded compliments. Whatever, if it's anything like the original Crysis, then Crysis 2 will have all graphical panache and zero substance. Furthermore, I happen to dig the Japanese aesthetic in Vanquish, moreso than anything the west has vomited out. So in short, go fuck yourself.
What you want is a Generic Third Person Shooter. We have plenty of those, go play one of those and leave this game as awesome as it is.
buying it now
Will get this game for sure coz its Shinji Mikami's creation, an authentic Japanese game made by the inventor of Resident Evil series RE4 in particular and it was first developed on PS3 which means its not a crappy port by Sega.
This is gonna be fun!
Giggity Giggity Goo :)
Giggity Giggity Goo lets have sex :))
Sounds like you're in for a gay sandwich! lol
Shinju Mikami is an awesome game developer, he made Resident Evil 3 which is simply the best resident evil game ive ever played. Vanquish im definitly looking forward too :)
He made every Resident Evil Before RE5. He Especially directed RE4, which was an inspirational title to all TPS game that came in the future.
He didn't make Resident Evil 2 the guy that made RE5 make RE2 Although I wish they remade RE3 and RE2 for the 360 and PS3 in full HD :( Oh yea true that :)
Shinji Mikami Produced RE2, but the guy who directed RE2 was Hideki Kamiya, works in the same company as him right now.
Shinji Mikami is the god of tps action games. @Agent-X - Resident Evil 2 is my personal favourite.
Bro that was hecticc ay Especially how you could play with 2 different sides Clair and Leon :D But seriously dude imagine seeing Nemesis in High Graphics. You know what will suprise me the most seeing the game in over the shoulder view just like RE4 and 5 and also add run and gun
Hope there's a demo soon. I have high expectations for this game.
This looks like a Sci-fi version of Gears of War...but I kinda like it.
The game looks so...free I guess is the word I'm looking for. I know the Crysis 2 team said they have a dynamic cover system but man...Vanquish just looks so fluid.
is this gonna come out for pc too? i hope so, looks sick.
damn that looks sweet... i can see this dude is making some progress where Japanese devs have been failing to do.. game has just moved up my must play list.
It has moved to the top of my DO WANT Shooters List.
Damn this game looks sick.
this looks crazy !!!! wow....
very nice footage
Chaos, the more the better. Looks great!
dammit i want this game so bad
