MMOCrunch.com takes a look at Gala-Net's free to play MMO and gives it an 8/10. While many criticize the game as a World of Warcraft Clone, there's a lot more than meets the eye.
first off: I love the art direction they went with. Everything looks so...fantasy like. Which is strange to see since everyone loves gritty nowadays. Either way, looks to be decent enough and an 8 out of 10 is not too shabby. I'll keep an eye out for this one.
I agree with Raymond; the art style is great. Maybe I'm strange, but I like to see to bright cheery colors now and then. I get tired of every game being foggy and drenched in blood; it's nice to see something more positive.
I definitely agree that bright colours can be great. I think that World of Warcraft's bright, simple and above all beautiful-despite-graphics art style is a large part of its success. I happen to wish more MMOs would concentrate more on making an art style that is both appealing and functional and less on pushing technical specs, which are always so bug-laden in the genre anyway.
I really want to give this game a try, looks like a lot of fun
That sounds really fun, but that fatigue system is very unfortunate. They'd probably take more criticism of copying WoW by doing it, but they should have used the system of gaining XP bonuses by simply not playing.
