Good no need for a successor.

LMAO are you serious or are you kidding lol there needs to be a next gen nintendo console, the wii is becoming stale x)

SOAD2747d ago

Only sales dictate to Nintendo whether or not they need a new console. And the Wii is still selling very well to this day.

turok2747d ago

ur the stale one stick to ur ps3 or 360. its fresh for me. Ninty wii doesnt need to upgrade. ps3 and 360 need upgrade lol. be thankful that sony and ms are going to update to this gen. move and kinect are coming.

"Only sales dictate to Nintendo whether or not they need a new console. And the Wii is still selling very well to this day."

This is certainly true, but slightly incomplete. The question of a successor system is not 'Is the current system making lots of money money?', but rather 'Is the current system making more or less money than a replacement would?'

Granted, the answer is probably 'more' currently, but who knows what the situation in a year will look like?

DeadlyFire2747d ago

Not anytime soon = 2012 so far. E3 2011 it might show up.

you serious?
I would welcome a Wii HD any day

RageAgainstTheMShine2747d ago (Edited 2747d ago )

Its a waiting game for Nintendo and they have the luxury of time and money this time. They can not afford to repeat another Game Cube scenario. For another year or two their business will be doing fine.

Sony had no choice but to come up with a PS3 even while the PS2 was doing very well to support and feed their other business home video optical medium - blu-ray.

Now that HDTV adoption, Blu-ray adoption, 3D movie adoption and PS3 games adoption is picking up .... expect the PS3 adoption to pick up also.

its way toooo early for a new console

Valay2747d ago

I don't know if I'd say it's TOO early. It'll be four years later this year. The 3DS was introduced six years after the DS, so I wonder how that'll compare to the next Wii.

Spenok2747d ago

It may be to early for the PS3 or 360, but not for the Wii. It just feels outdated.

RyuCloudStrife2747d ago (Edited 2747d ago )

yea your right xbox and ps3 are more uptodate on the hardware wii has been outdated since its release by its competitors and now its being thrown back to the ice ages because both ps3 and xbox will have 3d...

well ps3 already has it :p...

so come on nintendo step your game up dudes i feel bad for ya i guess theyll keep feeding the new generations more mario and yoshi like they did to us when we were growing up, kinda makes me sad...

Honky Kong2747d ago (Edited 2747d ago )

3D..... Play it again Sam....
Nintendo has plenty of money, I'm pretty sure they are more than happy with the wii. And as for Mario and yoshi, can you come up with any better games?

-Mezzo-2747d ago

this would be way too early, i'm expecting a reveal at E3 2012.

Colonel-Killzone2747d ago

As long as people are happy with their Wii. But if the majority of the community demands it then I guess its time for a new Console.

turok2747d ago

majority says no :( .

0oAngeluso02747d ago

Still rocks though. They took the Sony gameplan with the PS2, all about fun and games and not about graphics. That's why they are number 1 right now. Of course 3-D isn't the next Nintendo Step for a console. They already said if the market gets to 30 % then maybe. Considering the market for HDTV is only at 59% all these years later, I think we have a long wait....
Wii is solid though, for all the flack it gets, I mean it's not the "Cool console" but everyone owns one.

... u made bubbles for u.

Brasi822747d ago

Are a true gamer. Bubbles for great comment, that will hopefully remind people that Video Games are played for the fun.
