The Wii Needs Achievements

Kombo: "The Wii lacks that one addictive ingredient that helps gamers pop the previously completed games back in: achievements. Given the option of going back to a game I've finished, or for that matter, haven't started yet, a lot of times I look past the Wii. I'd rather get some points and long for that sound, that ping of pleasure for a task well done. It's the pat on the back that brings that small feeling of productivity to the forefront of the experience."

I think they should put Achievements in the next gen nintendo console because doing it to the wii right now would just be pointless.

joeyda2654d ago

I'll buy that amendment.

I agree. Plus wouldn't people want a more better unified online structure so that adding online friends would be a tad bit easier? I'd rather have that first.

Nintendo has been doing ingame trophies and achievements for years. I can't think of the slightest reason they didn't add this like 360/PS3 a while ago.

It needs a lot of things, but it's a bit too late now. Next generation.

Next generation, achievements will definitely be needed.

oh god no,
We don't need more people taking about how big their virtual dick is

FreeFalling2654d ago

DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY WII GAMES THERE ARE? Imagine all the patches.

guitarded772654d ago

And lack of hard drive space for all those patches... I'd love to see trophies/achievements come to the Wii, but it's not realistic this gen.

WildArmed2654d ago

that doesn't matter really.
The trophy/achievment support doesn't have to be backward compatiable.
Look at trophy implementation. Games before 09 do not have trophies (with few exceptions).
Which is fine, I wouldn't mind such an implementation.. (I can't complain now, I don't have a problem with trophy implementation so likewise goes for the Wii-system)
but I don't own a wii.
