RunDLC reports that Walmart launched an online pre-order campaign for Kinect that includes the camera, $30 gift card and choice of one game for $199.00.
Huh....not too bad at all.
So, the $150 to $200 confirmed?
i think it's only 200 cause the game is included.
I think it's at least pretty much confirmed to be SOMEWHERE between $100-$150.
Then it would be $140 without it? Then again, the gift card is nice incentive to buying kinect from Walmart.
EDIT: WTH! what's with the disagrees? I'm just pointing something out. Geez, you guys takes this seriously.
He's a clever troll...that Solidjun!!!
You are not allowed to say anything the slightest bit pro 360 around here or you get a mountain of disagrees and lose bubbles.
and if you say something nice about Sony you get lots of bubbles : )
@ solidjun, I was not disagreeing with you and dont know why some one would. I was replying to Frag.
I'm pro sony and the disagree button is a waste IMO. I won't go to the MS board and talk ish. I was just curious with the report regarding the pricing.
@Frag: I've been here a while. I know the deal from both sides of the aisle.
Doesn't the bundle in the link provide only 1 game? Unless you're assuming that Kinect comes with a game already.
Staying with Solidjun5's theory, if the games are $60 and you get kinectimals and another game doesn't that make Kinect just $70.00?
I posted an article awhile back confirming that the prices are at 39.99
if anyone can help kinect, it's walmart. if they plaster it everywhere people are bound to get sucked in.
While I am at it, I should probably get some detergent. But seriously, the gift card makes it sweet.
Gonna have a good laugh if the failure rate on Kinect is the same as the old xbox >_>
Lmao that would be hilarious. ::Sits down with a bag of popcorn::
I just want it to work, bottom line. I also don't want to install flood lights for it to read my motions.
Kinect is ready for the world, but is the world ready for Kinect?
The more I read about it, the more interested I become. I really need to play it somewhere first, though.
Kinect will probably retail for about $119 or $129. I come to this conclusion because if a Kinect game costs $60 and the device itself costs $119-$129, that is already $179-$189 if you were to buy them separately. The $30 gift card from Wal-Mart accounts for the remainder of the $199 special bundle price. If the Kinect DOES retail for $129 (as some expect) then this bundle price is not bad ... especially if it ends up retailing for the $150 that the pre-orders are selling for.
I don't know how bundles are priced in America but that's certainly not the way they are priced here in the UK. I bought my PS3 bundled with 2 games (MGS4 and Call of Duty 4(Game of the year edition)) 2 years ago for £329.99. the individual prices were: PS3= £299.99, MGS4= £39.99, Call of Duty 4= £39.99- That's an individual total cost of £379.97. My point is you never pay full price for games when they are bundled and the cost of any gift cards etc are never included in the bundle price, at least not in the UK. Based on the $199 for Kinect bundled with a game I would guess Kinect will be $150 when sold seperately.
Ahahahaah.. they're actually going to put kinect games at near full price? Dear o dear o dear.. I wouldn't pay even a tenner for any of the microsoft developed ones.
Earlier there were stories on Kinect games being between $35-$39 each. I would believe that more then the full price thing. I am guessing it's a tactic to hold a price point and then when people see the real prices they will more likely be on board with the actual price. The people that are saying $60 is too much for a Kinect game will feel much better about a $35 Kinect game.
So pretty much they are covering themselves by giving a gift card for $30 back. meaning if Kinect is $119 and the games are $40 that is $160 plus tax. Personally I See Kinect being $120, which is less then Move. Also I think the hold up is two things, trying to create buzz for the product, free advertising as well. Everyone is talking about it, also I believe they are trying to figure out whether to pack in a game or how to work that. Bundle pricing is probably being figured into this as well. If Kinect is in fact $119 and the new Xbox 360s Arcade is $199, then you could in theory bundle them together for $250 -$279 and that has got to look good to a lot of people.
200 dollars just to play with Skittles. I would rather spend the money on the zoo to see a real tiger. ;)
You could probably even bribe the zoo keeper into letting u feed it and pet it for that price too.. take that Skittles!
