California Submits Arguments to Supreme Court Today Over Video Game Law

Today California is submitting its arguments in Schwarzenegger v. EMA, the case regarding proposed law AB 1179 that would ban the sale of "violent" video games to minors. This law, authored by Sen. Leland Yee, was signed into law in 2005, but has not gone into effect due to various injunctions filed against the law.

define "violent video game". are we talking just M rated games? from the sounds of the article it seems like it could become the old saying "i can't define obscenity but i know it when it see it".

"“Violent video game” means a video game in which the range
of options available to a player includes killing, maiming, dismembering,
or sexually assaulting an image of a human being"
