A new Gameplay Video of Mafia II makes a Road Trip through Empire City ...
That's actually looking a lot better than I expected...
The first one was brilliant on the PC but the PS2 port was shocking, i never played the Xbox port but that got bad reviews too. Otherwise the damaged car looks very cool.
...it looks great, design-wise (streets, buildings, etc), but it also seems quite empty, and the pop-up is still noticable, so that's quite worrying. Also, I don't really like how the car seems to handle, to easily slipping a bit. Obviously, I hope this will be great, but it does seem it still needs some work to fix some stuff.
They are very old era cars, and so their handling is not up to today's car standards, they are slippy, heavy and often out of control. Also I thought pop-up wasn't bad, quite a lot less than the GTA games which I was quite impressed with (I love GTA by the way).
@Hassi94 Thats exactly what Mafia 1 aime to do, make the cars as realistic as possible
Yes I've began to play Mafia 1 a little in anticipation to this. But I'm someone who's never gotten used to keyboard and mouse so I'm awaiting my wired Xbox controller in the mail :)
what kind of bonus will PS3 version have?
extra missions ;)
thanks hope they'll release a demo
for next month.
PS3 gets extra missions, PC gets extra graphic effects, anything extra for 360?
to the max. that's what 360'ers get :)
and there's nothing like fanboy rant fuel
better anti-aliasing than on ps3. But that's about it.
the fighting looks good and the cars look like like thay have a realistic weight to them i cant wait to get this cant decide which version to get yet though. PS3 OR 360 what to do what to do ???????
can't wait to be a mafia boy !
The game look absolutely good! But... the freeroamiing game with the better physics remain GTA IV, and this sucks, since 2k Games is 'associated with Rockstar". @Disagree Why? Are you trying to say that Mafia 2 PhysX engine is better than GTA IV PhysX engine? LOL idiots.
I'm not sure what you're talking about. You probably meant "more amusing physics", because GTA never had anything more than that. Mafia is a more serious, well made of GTA, and they aimed at creating a believable, immersive story, in which they have already succeeded with Mafia 1. Also, cars are realistic, act realistic, missions are incredibly good, AI is great, design and graphics were awesome back then.. Comparing the two almost makes no sense as GTA clearly focused on rampage fun in a NFS arcade fashion, with no intention of delivering a serious mafia experience. And that's what makes GTA great, but it shouldn't undermine and stand in the way of Mafia, as they took completely different approaches and Mafia is far ahead of GTA when objectively discussing game quality. Oh and I'm just gonna say - 160ms lag in GTA IV, followed by the super-shitty lazy camera.
Damn.. i said PHYSIC ENGINE. I said NOTHING about graphics, story, missions etc... Look when the car hit the pedestrain.... IT SUCKS if compared to GTA IV physics. Also, when the car roof hit the wall nothing happened. In GTA IV car roof can change the form.
Pick up the PC version. http://www.youtube.com/watc...
I have an XFX Radeon HD 5750 which will max this game easy but thanks to Nvidia's monopolization I won't have access to the advanced physics engine, so I may just buy this on Xbox if the port is reported good... Digital Molecular Matter FTW!
the cars look like they drive great! and the graphics are phenomenal too i cant wait x3
it looks to run well on ps3, even though the traffic levels look really low. I wonder if traffic levels are adjustable on pc, like gta iv was. Im glad Im getting this on pc though, even if the devs dont put it in im sure I can make it so Im not playing in a ghost town with mods.
I cant wait to try the demo for this. It looks like a real fun game. My favourite game type is the open world GTA type games like this one. Also an added bonus is the old cars.
Empire City?? So Cole McGrath is gonna show up and electrocute the f*ck out of these guys??
been waiting for this game since i finish the first one...
