This cryengine 2 mod will alter the graphic output of Crysis to make it appear hand-drawn. Screenshots and Video inside!
Borderlands FTW wait...
I seriously hate Cel-Shading. It looks awesome on some games but that's just it. For example Killer 7 on PS2 was awesome. But Borderlands?
Borderlands before going cell-shaded actually looked quite bad, making it cell shaded probably helped with performance and cured the problem of low resolution textures.
Zelda: Windwaker artwork has to be my favourite cell-shaded artwork.. I thought it suited the game well
Wind Waker was toonshaded, one of the most unique styles and one of the most beautiful games ever made. Other great shaded games are oil paint style Okami, and highgloss colorful celshaded games like Killer 7 and No More Heroes, and sin city-esk MadWorld. And of course windows paint looking Pixeljunk Shooter.
Bu bu but consoles can mod
Borderlands, Crackdown 1, and my favorite Prince of Persia were awesome looking cel-shaded games. Borderlands going cel-shaded was what actually got me to buy it. Crysis on the other hand, doesn't look that great cel-shaded. It doesn't do the game justice.
That's not cellshaded, it's outlined. There's a HUGE difference. Still a neat effect, though. I wouldn't use it in game.
Lol no, that's more Rage
but its not really a fair comparison, the graphics in borderlands are limited by consoles and ue3.
@conloles stfu and gtfo your annoying ps3 can mod games except developers dont put in the right stuff to let ps3 players mod the games. EXAMPLE UNREAL TOURNAMENT 3
its basically just cooked pc mods... This is a big reason I hate consoles, they are closed up so much so that you cant change anything and you could never have a game like Counter Strike Source, Diablo 2 or Starcraft that last for 5-10 years.
wrong. PS3 can't mod, only unreal accepted mod, big difference there. Oh, and nobody's playing it anyway
Stunnin ! 3 years later crysis is still the best looking game out there ^^
I played it again last week. It's still as gorgeous as ever. And I love the replayability.
I agree Crysis still looks and play better than alot of titles recently I mean look at this video, it's not HD but you can see how stunning it would look if it was.
This is the best part of PC gaming, all the mods :) that looks really nice, borderlands? :D
Thats what i was thinking. Borderlands on steroids! xD
im watching it on 1080p and it looks damn fine
without photo realistic textures and moving, animated vegetation (it is very hard to see or appreciate in this video), it isn't as immersive as it could be. pity because the cel shading mod is otherwise pretty impressive. seems like it dumbs down the crysis experience.
that is awesome!!! this game me another reason to play Crysis again.
I think cel-shading doesn't go together with photo-realistic textures. Also, all the fx are not cel-shaded, which kind of breaks the comic-feeling.
That's not cell shading. God.
Crysis for three years has been seated on the throne of the "Graphics King" and will continue to do so for the forseeable future. I feel genuinly sorry for thoughs who have been able to witness the game at its full capacity, it is genuinly breath-taking. As for the cell-shading mod, I was quite impressed, it doesn't have the full "Comic-style" of titles such as Borderlands and such, but it is still pretty cool. This has given me the incentiv to return to Crysis once more, I have already poured hours into the game and its multiplayer, I can't wait to purchase Crysis 2 for the PC, I am so excited to see just how incredible it will look...
I want that 3D Person Mod
Third person mod? All you have to do is type "con_restricted = 0" in the console, then type "thirdperson = 1" or something. Alternatively, you can launch Crysis in developer mode (google it) and then press F1 for third person, F2 to teleport to different locations, F3 for noclip, and F4 for God Mode.
And I'd like to thank you for that too, never knew that! :) Bubbles!
that's too cute. if Ruffian was able to shop at Crytek for an alternate engine, there would be so much more to gain than just better graphics.
Great mod. Awesome. Anyone who thinks Crysis is still the best graphical game either... A. has a inferior PC B. Doesn't play many PC games Metro 2033 w/ Full Tessellation , Stalker Clear Sky w/ SHARPER mod, Arma II ACE Mod 2, Crysis w/ Natual Mod, Stalker Complete, Stalker Call of Pripyat DX11, Half Life 2 Cinematic Mod 10, Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead all look far superior to Crysis as far as scale, lighting, and object detail.
I had the pleasure of playing Metro 2033 on my friend's new rig equipped with a 5970. My jaw dropped to the floor in a similar manner as it did in 2008 when I first played Crysis on max settings. I still think Crysis looks better than the other games you mentioned though. Also Real Life-sis is my favourite TOD mod :)
What about the console version of Metro 2033? :I Is it worth playing? And how is the game gameplay wise? :o
Bad and bad lol...
It's still a good game on the 360, but the graphics are shit.
