The Xbox 360 is one of the most popular games consoles of all time. It has a bigger user base and more games than both the Wii and PlayStation 3. With its popularity remaining high and with the upcoming launch of the Kinect add-on, Microsoft have decided to launch a new slim line Xbox 360, but is it worth the money?

Hell yeah it's worth it. If I had not bought a Elite Model a few months ago I probably would have went with that model. Same price Wifi built in(bout time) 250HDD(lots of space) slick new look , Less noise for 299$.

now if MS could bring in some more exclusive games.

I consider the MW2 edition, the only 360 so far to have adorned special artwork on it. Even the RE5 edition only sported a color change.

I'm keeping my MW2 console, but then again I love IW's CoD. Instead I might buy my 4th Xbox when the 360 S comes with special edition console with artwork. Maybe sell of my elite that isn't MW2....

Yes, you are correct. The Halo 3 LE console did have artwork on it, albeit somewhat minimalistic.

That was a pretty nice looking console, but I believe you were lucky if you got a Falcon with those. The vast majority of the console released was the older one.

If you don't already have a 360 it is a great option. If you already have a 360 it still might be worth trading in your older model. The 360 S runs a lot cooler and quieter. And of course it also has a much bigger hard drive, as well as built in wi-fi. I also simply like the way it looks.

If most or all of those questions are answered yes, then a 360S is a satisfactory purchase.

Actually, your wrong. Microsoft can license bluray from the bluray association any time it wishes. Sony is a part of the association, not the sole owner.

To the vast majority of games, BR isn't a necessity for gaming instead it is a luxury.

I suspect that the most important thing to most gamers these days are online connectivity and connection to your friends. Whatever your friends are gaming on, is what you want to be on. Everything else is probably secondary....

When I bought my PS3, I didn't look at the BR features at all. Heck, I own 2 BR now. Both unopened, Enter the Dragon (Bruce Lee kick's @ss) and The Incredible Hulk.

My point being, sure the PS3 offer a value that in the past was superior to MS. That gap is now pretty close and leveled the playing field. Xbox Live now offer features that PSN cannot match at the moment, and the PS3 console offers feature that the Xbox 360 S can't match at the moment.

It was worth 140 bucks to me since I got in the GS deal....WiFi (100 bucks) plus an increase from 60 to 250 GB Hard drive takes it well past 140 plus quieter to boot

Personally I think that someone who wants an Xbox 360 S should wait a bit longer. I believe that we're going to see a price drop on it later in the year once the current stock of Elite's is gone. I think a price drop will coincide with the launch of a bundle that includes Kinect.

Batteries/chargers

I was looking for a second console to keep my fat 80gig ps3 company, at first I was gonna get a wii. Then I read online that I would regret it eventually so I got the new xbox 360 slim. I was playing Left 4 dead if anyone would like to be my first friend my gamertag is MREPLAYER1 though at the moment I only have left 4 dead. Do you like it when some 12 year old comments on a PS3 article saying something along the lines of "I played this on Xbox 360 and it was better" or "Why? wouldn't you get the Xbox 360 instead, it goes for a lot cheaper" and the list goes on of stupid comments that relate back to Microsoft (I don't care if your not a kid, you sound like one, with your bias views).. If you do then seriously take your console wars some where else, people with 360s actually go on this site wanting to talk about what they like on 360 article, not what YOU like. It's very similar to someone going who hates to a rock concert, just to play some hip-hop full blast in order to convince people hip-hop is better. Not everyone is keen on blu-ray players, and some hate it as much as you guys hate the Xbox Live subscription fee. Same applies with exclusives, some people prefer Halo to all the exclusives on the PS3, everyone has different opinions.

This revised smaller version is worth the $300 buy if you don't already own the previous Xbox 360 models.

I bought an Xbox 360 Elite early this year, and it's serving me proper...I'll not be replacing it with this new version. I'm a single-player only gamer and I use my consoles strictly for GAMING. So between the previous model and this new build, it don't matter to me because it's still the same DNA running through the hardware playing the games.

Down the road, I'll definitely buy the X360s; currently, the Elite will do

yes, hell yes. look at the facts comes with the new bulit in 802.11n wifi. comes with a built in 250 gig hard drive. its quieter than the old one, and hell it doesn't look bad either. ALSO: it's ready for kinect! which is going to be amazing. And for all the PS3 fanboys, suck one because it is lots cheaper than the ps3 slim with 250 gigs. PS3 SUCKS. It has a slow ass network everything is usually lagy, it just all around sucks.
