Dragon Age 2 Abandoning Our Original Character-Why?

Last November, Dragon Age: Origins was released to the masses. BioWare’s new epic had finally arrived, and would introduce players to the world of Ferelden. Your journey would begin here, as you would choose from a number of different origin stories that would determine how NPC’s throughout the world would treat you. One way or another, whether through tragedy or some odd circumstance, Duncan of the Gray Wardens would find you and recruit you into his ranks, changing your characters life forever.

the story will be much deeper since its based on 1 main character..and finally he'll be able to talk

beardpapa3080d ago (Edited 3080d ago )

but the fate of a grey warden is death anyways. how many years does Dragon Age 2 take place after DAO? from my understanding it's probable they ditched DAO's main character because of their side effect. They have shorter life and before they go kaput, they must traverse the deep roads to whoop as many blight ass as they can.

edit: meant for steven's post

I dont mind. I have put so much time in DA:O... 250+ hrs total, i think. I've made every possible character and bought all the DLCs. Also, Grey Wardens dont have a long lifespan so it's understandable.

It'd be nice if they focus on expanding the game to an open world instead though. I want a lot of Dark Spawn killing instead of waiting for random encounters. Enemies were limited in the game sadly.

Mages kicks ass... but my archer build is GODLY. He can almost 1-hit kill an Alpha Ogre.

I agree. We put our heart and souls into our characters. Why should we be forced to give them up or pretend they never existed? bioware has to justify this change

What about that chat where DAO devs were blaming that FF13 was not a real RPG that its characters were already made ....

LOL, So DAO will be similar to a Mass Effect franshise and that is not too different then FF13.

QQcrybaby3080d ago

Really ME2 isn't that different from FF13? Really? Come on man.

Baka-akaB3080d ago (Edited 3080d ago )

that chat was always silly before dAO appeared , let's be honest , despite being awesome , mass effect 2 was as much a watered down rpg , than ffxiii was a watered down jrpg .

Bioware was just trash talking the concurrence , like so many do

Baka-akaB3080d ago (Edited 3080d ago )

Anyway i'm ok with it . I'm in favor of streamlining the game (especially its clunky hybrid gameplay) for better .

Let's be honest here , what was it like being an elf in dragon age , as an example ?
You have the two elven origin prologues , if you aint a mage , a few dialogues with you treated as a second rate citizen , and only restrictions in the story (just try becoming a king or royal consort as an elf without mods).

It was mostly for look and show , and in that case you bet it will be modded a lot , just like people could do a elf Leliana if they fancied it .
