"The PlayStation 3 version of real-time strategy game R.U.S.E. will support PlayStation Move, Ubisoft has confirmed. "
The fact the PC version will have draconian DRM means I was defo looking at a console version of this and this is what I want to see motion controls used on, forget Mini sports games I want proper titles. Not being able to use kinect sitting down made me laugh a bit too much as well, nice way for microsoft to appeal to a disabled gamer.
""Senior producer Mathieu Girard told Eurogamer that developer Eugen Systems and publisher Ubisoft only started integrating Sony's tech into the game "four or five weeks" ago." I wasn't sure if it was just going to be a gadget," Girard said, "but it turns out it's a very cool and natural controller. We're very excited about it." So it took them a month to add Move support to their game and it works perfectly too? I see great things for move in the future! This is great news! RTS games are my favorite genre by far, good to see my console getting some RTS love. Edit: "Unfortunately for Xbox 360 owners, there are no plans to support Kinect. Girard said the stumbling point was having to play standing up while using Microsoft's rival motion-sensing tech." Well, that sucks!
"...there are no plans to support Kinect... ...the stumbling point was having to play standing up while using Microsoft's rival motion-sensing tech." So the rumors are true.
lol. nice job MS make it hard for devs like this to incorporate your motion control, wonder who tested MS stuff and came up the idea of standing up for every game.
This is not an idea, it's a technical limitation (for now). The skeleton tracker simply cannot distinguish the player('s legs) from the couch.
@ju which is why i said who tested it out for them? shouldnt they have tested it to make sure that you can use kinect while sitting down first b4 doing full body motion?
You can't test or fix what isn't possible. It's a limitation of the technology itself. Possibly more sophisticated SW can fix/add that sometimes down the road. But a device like Natal is mostly based on research and not just requirements. The results of research might make it into the requirements; but I would just say, it's brand new technology. They simply didn't/don't know how far this tech can reach at that point.
Well everyone is confirming that move is quite precise as a controller ... And if it takes less than a month for a good implementation i can see more titles using move in the future
RTS with Move is the Best Thing, I'm Expecting more RTS Love for The PS3...
Well 2YR old toddlers are the most active........... Anyway thats cool news, I'm not an RTS fan, but I'll rent it just to see how MOVE stands up to controling it.
Does anyone know if the navigation controller have force-feedback built in???
4-5 weeks for an RTS. Very impressive. Looks like lots of games will start getting additional Move support if it's that easy for them. Looks like Move will be usable in every genre. RTS was one of the outstanding question marks. Now answered.
good to hear it now maybe they can finally release it?
cool thing, a starcraft 2 ps3 would be awesome now! =D
Move > Kinect acording to those devs. This is only the first of dozens of games which will support Move but NOT Kinect. How would they support it by the way, Kinect doesn't have buttons and you can't even sit... Like we predicted long ago.
I am excited for this. I hope they'll bring a demo. I played the PC demo with the mouse and 360 controller. Mouse worked mostly, controller is more of a hazel to use. I was hoping for Move support. But I would like to try that out, before I buy it. I would wish for 1080p - in general for all RTS games. More space gives you a better overall view. I doubt it will be, though.
Girard reckons using Move to play the game provides "the most enjoyable experience", but admits using a mouse and keyboard to interact with the PC version is "the most efficient". Unfortunately for Xbox 360 owners, there are no plans to support Kinect. Girard said the stumbling point was having to play standing up while using Microsoft's rival motion-sensing tech.
well i hope IGN notice this when they review the game. Because if the PS3 version have easier control for RTS . Then PS3 version should have a higher score.
Good news, that is the good support.
this is good news for the move and the ps3, it will be so much easier playing with the move rather than a dual shock controller:):)
