A short video showing the evolution of Heavenly Sword from 2003 (where it was an Xbox exclusive) till 2007 (where it is now a PS3 exclusive).
The demo left me craving for more. I despise Ninja Theory for turning it into a mere teaser.. hehe..
I think the main reason they released the demo was to get you used to the controlling and after touch feature. It was a good demo, but I would have hoped it was longer :(
this game is going to rock...hey maybe MS should have signed up for this game
This will probably be one of the best PS3 games...and they did not hold back on this game....nothing was cut...
2003,2004 then it shows 2005 ps3 exclusive the game look so much better(forget the ps3 exclusive sentence). Am glad they changed the character but i would love if they bring the water fights from the concept trailer that will own.
Yeah, if you look at the 2003 trailer though, the enemies still look kinda similar, but Nariko looks completely different, and the heavenly sword looks sooo bad.
"i would love if they bring the water fights from the concept trailer that will own." - shh...don't tell anyone ;) but you shall be appeased.
She looks UGLY in the concept trailer. UGLEEEY
So MS choose Bullet witch over this, LMAO.
this game is going to own any other game thats gone come up against it in the same month it has the potential too move consoles of shelves and sell millions of copies
Ha ha, you can't spell....sorry..
in the first trailer it was a croutching tiger ripoff now its croutching tiger meets god of war. It does look good now though.
i find it looked nice in 2003 and now in 2007 also :) i felt a big cultural change there, from asia style (the leaves, jumping on water etc.) to more worldwide appealing style. btw. why the change from Xbox to PS exclusivity??? and the hair is looking horrible now (i hope they will try to fix it, cause in the demo that was the most negative thing i have spotted), like made from paper...
it changed exclusivity, is because they took the game to Microsoft, and Microsoft said, "no thanks." then Sony saw it and were like, "we see the potential here," and funded the project for them.
During gameplay it does not look horrible. It is the best hair ever in a game - it's movement and physics are beautiful and striking.
I füc*ing love this game.
the improvement of the game over the years is really vast, especially the animations and the main character Nariko. I guess MS judged this game to be bad too ealry, coz they coulda had a nother hit title under their belts.
Probably be a cliffhanger at the end of this, i doubt they'll do one game. Unless someone has heard something. I'm thinking 3 at least!!. I think when she's done saving her people, she'll be transported somewhere else to fight for others etc. Big jump in graphics in later videos, also animation, characters will look similar as thats the style they wanted, but i agree they've changed the cultural look of the game.
Seeing as how if you are the person using the heavenly sword, you only have a day (?) to live. It may nopy be a day, but I know it is a damn short time period, and with no cars, or teleportation ;)that'd be pretty tough to travel anywhere in enough time. God I can't wait for this.
In an earlier...much earlier story the developer stated it would be a trilogy and that the writers have already started and nearly finished writing the story for the second game.
It may be even bigger than GOW
She is a badass! The game looks better on PS3. I think M$ lost a great exclusive.
Well, to be fair, Microsoft didn't pass on this game. They simply demanded that Ninja Theory be absorbed into Microsoft's internal studios, and have Microsoft employees added to the staff. Sony on the other hand said "we'll do everything possible to help you fulfill your vision". Ninja Theory went ahead and made the right decision from there. Microsoft also refuses to fund sequels to MechAssault and Crimson Skies, two highly acclaimed Xbox titles, simply because sales didn't meet their expectations. I think Microsoft should start rethinking how to promote compelling IPs on their platforms, and buying out existing ones definitely isn't the answer.
"They simply demanded that Ninja Theory be absorbed into Microsoft's internal studios, and have Microsoft employees added to the staff." - you do not know it was Microsoft who requested that - they may have done, but it could have been another publisher - your Sony musings are correct though
only 5 6 months ive seen this on youtube for years...
the only thing I kept thinking the whole time was what would Heavenly sword 2009 look like, man that would be one amazing game... LoL
wow this game looks sick. badass female God of War version. the hair is not cheap... i remember reading somewhere that the hair was using one of the PS3 Cell SPU's alone. hmm.. having it crouching tiger style seemed interesting, but i guess time changes in interest and what technology offers. the more i play the demo, the better it is and find new moves and movement. at first, it was just button mashing... then the 2nd time is like wow this is getting lame.. 3rd time is i wanna know these combos and how to counter attacks. the counter animations are sick and you can throw anything.
How long has this game been on the air and why didnt any one grave it b4?
Someone grew up...
when MS need all the money they can get to help fund zat 3 year Warranty!!! it make sense
Wow... That's totally awesome. Nariko totally evolve toward the years after the first concept trailer. SHE LOOK UGLY UGLLYYYY UGLLLYYYY. Now our Nariko from the last trailer look gorgeous and ready to kick Lara Croft anytime soon ^^ .
Awesome work. Welldone gaffyh. I didn't even know about an earlier version of HS let alone it being Xbox exclusive and looking rather different. Great, great video.
are amazing, great choreagraphy, she was fuggly before, dang lol, and yeah the swords too
PS. It was NEVER an XBOX Exclusive. Ninja Theory were only talking to Microsoft, and other publishers - everyone wanted the game, but Microsoft didn't want to give them enough money. Well that's the rumoured story - but yes was never an Xbox exclusive - funny how information makes the rounds in Chinese Whispers and makes something completely false.
