There are four main groups of people that make up the vast majority of the market who will all not buy Move or Kinect for different reasons.
doesn't really apply to move, once u have the camera the controllers are less than a dualshock most casual games wont be using the sub controller its an impulse purchase. you will start to see wii games go multiplatform when that happens multi console owners will just pick up the ps3 version as it will be the same price.
ya damn skippy
and better precision
Q:Who Will Actually Buy Move or Kinect? A:The same people who bought Nintendo Wiis.
@ monk339 Actually, I have no Wii, nor do I plan to buy one. This is further re-enforced by Move. If my GF wants to play "casual" games that use motion controllers she will be able to now, and I can dabble in more "hardcore" titles as well. Although there are certainly some quality titles on Wii, there are simply not enough there that interest me.
"you will always come back to a nice hardcore game with impressive graphics. " Yeah, Move games can have the exact same visual fidelity as non-move games, it's a control scheme, it has no impact on graphics.
i have both consoles and i say meh to it. just look at the MS confrence, nothing but bullship for move. move was more impressive but at the same time meh i need to see more hardcore move games.
Move: Shooter fans who want a more engaging interface, platformer fans (Heroes on the Move + Sly Collection), sports fans Kinect: Dance fans
Well, now I know that Parapraxix and 14 others don' t have Wiis, with that said, I would have to assume that millions upon millions of people that do, don' t come to N4G. now, here is another question, do those millions of people that don' t come to N4G want something different? Or just a high definition Wii?
with PSN we can get better games than whats on the Wii for under $15
Aside from 1st party Nintendo software, I agree.
Kids already have a Wii. I have my controller. we can have some fun with Kinect 2 player game and if the specs shown are right then we can take turns. Move, I wish it all the best, but I will probably never own one. I played the wii and it just kills the feel of the game for me. The games don't play as well as the controller and if you want a sip of water, you have to put down the controller and pick it up again. Not to mention I had to put the wii in the kids room because they leave the controllers all over the place. Kinect has no attachment, and it knows who I am. I just walk in and toy with it then leave. Simple as pie.
I'm buying Move. There are plenty of games lined up for it. And Move-Only games are no more than $40. Plus I am still believing that Epic Mickey will come to PS3 now. Kinect on the other hand: I have no desire or reason to buy it. It has zero hardcore launch games, not that any are being made or even thought of. Reach won't use it, Gears 3 won't use it, Fable 3 won't use it. Kinect games are $60.
I think I will buy a move controller because I am a HUGE dead space fan and really wanna play extraction on PS3... Other then that the other rail shooters look good... Not too much else really interests me that much yet...
I am totally in love with Sorcery and I haven't touched it yet. I like tech demo games: The games that launch to show off the technology. Trace Memory on DS was a great example. It made you utilize the system in 100 different ways to deliver a great game but at the same time show you everything you can do with it. I think Sorcery will have you doing all kinds of kooky movements when playing. I think it's going to be a really fun game.
I totally forgot about Dead Space. That's another game I'll be trying with Move! Hmm... I might be completely sold on it now. There are a substantial amount of Move games I've already said I wanted to try. If it actually works as well as I've heard it works, it might just be a buy from me. ESPECIALLY if they port Epic Mickey, because I was thinking about getting a Wii for that, too. And to think I was only gonna get Move for my parents...
Honestly, I don't like the idea of all of a sudden using motion controllers on a console that's been traditional for the 5-6 years it's been out. At least the Wii has had motion controllers it's entire lifespan. That's why I don't see myself playing any motion control on the HD consoles with core games, I might buy Kinect or Move for my family since it interests them, and it might get some cheap enjoyment out of me here and there, but that's about it. :/
I already know I'm getting two Kinects (one for a gift)..to use the VideoKinect during Thanksgiving and Christmas. We already use the Xbox cam right now during the holidays...the only negative was the only one that could talk was the person with the mic..and you always had t move the cam around to focus on people in the room.. With Videokinect everyone in the room can talk and the camera pans out to fit everyone into the shot..in my opinion this is priceless As for Move..if the old Guncon games Point Blank 1 + 2 are released as a collection I will RUN to gamestop to get that game..one of my all-time fave Guncom games on the original PS and PS2.. But we will all see whaty actually is released for both peripherals.. Evil
the ps eye does that... for several years... and costs little to nothing compared to kinect...
the ps eye does that... for several years... and costs little to nothing compared to kinect... It does what? You are saying the PS eyecan do what Kinect did on stage at E3..nah..it can't But what I loved about the 360 cam was playing Uno..UNo rush..Spades..Chess etc and still being able to see and talk to who you were playing with.. What is amazing about Kinect is being able to chat with people on messenger.. People who travel alot for their jobs will understand how priceless that will be to talk to your family on their couch sitting in front of the tv from your laptop. Parents using it with kids who go to college..deployed military using wifi can say good night to their kids etc.. VideoKinect is absolutely worth the money..especially now that you don't need two 360s to talk to people..they can easily get a free account and a cheap webcam

'And people wonder why everybody says Americans are idiots. This guy really think he needs a 150$ Kinect to do that. Man, any 20$ web cam can do that, including the PSEye, stop throwing your money through the window.' LMAO @ the angry multi-account waking up from his afternoon nap. Another complete idiot trying to insult America because he's a PS3 fankid..too bad he can't read PSeye is ok..but it wasn't even doing what Xbox Vision cam was doing. With the vision cam you could play games over live and still video conference..playing Spades, UNO, UNO RUSH, Chessmaster Live was priceless. Only the ignorant think that using a $20 webcam on Skype is something so new. Nah..the fact that I could sit on my couch and lazily wave my hand and videochat with someone whose using a 20 dollar cam over messenger from their laptop is cool & vice versa if I'm traveling and I want to see the entire family sitting on the couch while the cam automatically pans in and out as each come into the view is just as cool. Not to mention I can use a cellphone to video chat with Live through Kinect. The PSeye isnt going to help the 25 million who use Xbox live no matter how much you pretend it will..
my gf asked me about getting a Wii awhile back, but i showed her the E3 videos and she was sold. i already got a PS Eye, so i'll get 2 move/sub controllers. i'm sure PS+ will have plenty of "free" move games too!!!
MOVE is 4 player compatible and you don't have to sit between 4-11 feet between it in order for it to pick you up ( http://industry.bnet.com/te... But that's just a couple of good reasons since people need those on here it seems. Anyway as for games no doubt MOVE will get more games as wii games will be so easy to port and since they come out at a rate of like 4 a week at a minimum no doubt a lot of them will start making there way to PS3 thus boosting the PS3s game catalogue and casual market.
I like to Move it...Move it You like to Move it...Move it. We like to MOVE IT! http://www.youtube.com/watc...
I'm going to buy it Move It... On launch day... Move It!
People who wants to play games and people who want to look stupid. :)
I will not be buying either of these travesties.
ive always said this...i would buy kinect at the right price (prolly not over $100) and not necessarily for what games it comes out with (but im sure with time, the games will be better) but for the whole package and what ELSE it can do besides games
Although i dont own a Xbox 360, if i did...i would buy Kinect, only because i would probably believe in the hype just like i believed in the hype for the Wii But after 1 month i would get bored of it like the Wii, and it would be straight on ebay. But thats just me, i woudnt enjoy the type of games that i have seen for Kinect.
i like move more i also think move is better priced
the rumored price of Kinect is 130 dollars. A full move set up is 180 dollars. Kinect supports 2 players for move you need a second setup. So explain how 360 dollars is better then 130 ?
the controller plus sub controller is $80, the camera is $30....so where did you get $180....lmfao....ohhh and why would i buy another camera....you need to go back to school, learn the times tables or something.....FAIL
160 total cam 30, 2 moves 100 and 30 for sub most people thought sub controller was 40 and camera too also if you get the bundle 100 + 1 extra move and sub is 180
i'll be buying move day one but as for kinect thats going to wait a long while
I have Move pre-ordered. I'll be getting the PlayStation Move Bundle and Final Fantasy XIV Collector's Edition on the same week.
I might buy both I haven't decided. Kinect's launch lineup isn't for me so I'll hold off there and I haven't bothered to look at Move's lineup yet. Probably both eventually though like I said.
well maybe people... dont count on elephants or zebras tho
I plan on buying Move because of Sorcery and Heros.
AGH! There's another one! I forgot about Heroes...... Yeah, it's most likely a definite buy for me.
I may buy move not to sure yet.
I'm sold on Move, but I may hold off until Killzone 3 is released.
I will be buying the Move @ launch day. I still would buy the move even if I owned a 360 due to the fact that its easier to swallow losing and $80 (or $99 if I went with the bundle) investment than $150 if either did end up being a flop and huge waste of time and money.
Im getting move for sure. I love my wii and my ps3 is a beast. Adding move support to every title here on out is a good strategy and with 3d we are getting 3 games in one. I already own a ps eye so cant see buying kinect. Plus I refuse to support microsoft after 6 360s.
I'm just pissed that the preorder advertising isn't as robust as MS. just waking around in LA and there are huge Kinect Billboards and buses and stuff. and then when you walk into any EB games or Gamestop. the poster and Kinect brand games are all plastered at the store front. while you guessed it, MOVE stuff barely visable and way out of sight. in fact. Sony's line up isn't even focused. :-( i know they plant to market this thing big but OMG, can we get on with it right now. MS has already started marketing The kinect with the New 360 adds. mentioning, "Kinect ready"
One of the disadvantages of living in North America... the Microsoft Advertising Juggernaut.
Sorcery FTW that alone sold me on Move.
agreed. I already purchased mine to play LBP2 , Socom, Sorcery, and all the other games that are gonna be backwards compatible just for the heck of it. Dont forget to include the navigator too guys. I got like 3 pseyes too so im good.
I honestly can't see any reason to buy kinect. It looks like a step down from the wii, and yeah their is alot of people saying that move is too similar to the wii, but it has hd games, its more precise, and it has alot of games that interest me. So that makes the move the next logical step in motion controls
I'm buying the Move no doubt. This is the precision we expected.
not exactly precise but it is like wii motion plus or worse i have seen the video to lack on sports games
Sorcery was unique. My son went crazy with the potion turned green and the controller changed colors to green. Very intuitive. I mean its Sony and they cater to the fans so were bound to get everything we want out of it down the line.
i barely play my ps3 due to coming home so tired from work but if i were to say with its no brainer...Move. kinect has good thing going as i would like for actual vitual reality gaming like in virtourcity or w.e its called or it can even be turned into a very primitive version of the matrix
Fan boys..... That's who's going to buy those machines.
Who wont buy move? probably the same people who continue to ignore the ps3.
I'll eventually buy Move, but I'll be waiting until some quality titles are released for it.
All I have to say is kz3 in 3d with move support!!! Can you imagine being able to peak out from behind cover with your head and then popping off a clean headshot with the precise 1:1 movement.. I'm so freaking excited and that sorcery game looked absolutely creative like all of sony's other games.. It even got good applause at e3.. so cool...
I'm buying Move
nah im kidding, its the casuals strictly the casuals
I am getting the Move I would get the Kinect but thats not my play style
1. Casuals, the same kind of people who like the idea of Wii Sports. 2. Hardcore fanboys, oh you know the kind, the ones who would buy a bag of dogsh*t if it had the Sony logo on it. 3. People who not long after deeply regret the purchase :)
of move controllers just to have them, I am a deal hunter so I hope that they will have some great deals when move comes out.
So im deffinently buying it. Im 28 now. Resident Evil, Killzone, Heavy Rain, Dead Space, SOCOM and other awesome games will be great with MOVE. Im deffinently not getting Kinect. Next years E3, we see Microsoft as the second Nintendo if Kinect goes in this direction!
i will get MOVE not because of its awesome precision, but sony's awesome lineup of games. Kinect is for people who never played PS EYE. its basically the same. MS has been catching up. In couple of years, they will bring out Wiimote/ps move clone. PS MOVE has the potiential to outsell Kinect worldwide. probably in north america as well due to unimpressive pricing of Kinect.
I think Kinect is going to be looking worse and worse when more people get to use it. 100-200ms lag alone.
I am getting the move, the controller that actually works as advertised, no amount of kinect advertising will fool me
I did :(
the very fanboys that were talking all s#!t on Nintendo for doing motion controls... hypocrites!
Move a day 1 buy for me .
