IGN: Nintendo's 3DS Stance - Core Gamers Come First

In short, the 3DS has a stack of potential for interesting game designs that will leverage just how different the hardware is. Right now, however, Nintendo needs to ensure that the system will get off to a flying start on launch, and IGN is really impressed with how it's going about it.

Nintendo grappled the casual market, but thankfully they understand core gamers not only buy a ton of games, they also increase brand loyalty far more than mom & pop casuals.

Way to go Nintendo. You are going to rise number one again in my list and will be sitting at top along with Sony. After all those hardcore game announcements like Resident Evil: Reveleations, Metal Gear Solid 3D: Snake Eater, etc. I knew you will eventually care for us again.

I really do think that the 3DS has a shot at having the best launch line-up ever! Even if it's a lot of remakes, I'm gonna have a blast playing them all over again. I'm betting another 100 million+ 3DS sold.

Nintendo has been on the top of my list forever. In my heart the fight was always Nintendo 1 everyone else fought for #2

nintendo appealing to core gamers first? IGN truly stands for ignorant . all i have to look at for nintendo is their track record and i know nintendo doesnt care about the core gamer. to think otherwise means that a person isnt informed or is just an idiot.

Nintendo started the hardcore games. Ever heard of a game being "NES hard"?

Idiot.
