Review: Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2011 - Examiner

Since 2007, the Tiger Woods golf franchise has seen a number of improvements to gameplay, with the main reason being the release of the Nintendo Wii. With motion-control in place for the Wii edition, Nintendo quickly gathered the best version of the title although lacking in HD-graphics and the visuals of the PS3 and Xbox 360. This left EA in a tough-spot because they couldn't properly replicate the motion-based controls on the PS3 and Xbox 360 with the analog stick control. With the release of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2011, EA makes a valiant effort to create the immersion of the Wii title on the PS3 and Xbox 360 by incorporating a couple new control features and game modes. While most of the game will feel like previous Tiger Woods entries, the core mechanics have changed for the better and offer a more accurate and realistic sense of being on the course shooting 18-holes.

Nicely done review. I used to play golf games a lot when I was younger, but I really don't know why.

Golf is just one of those games that interests people. Like bowling or tennis.

Hmmm, "The camera does ruin some chipping opportunities when you are too close to the crowd..." "...and your view will be compromised due to the obstructions."

Sounds like Tiger's problem.

So are you going to do a PS Move re-review when that comes out?

I actually just picked this game up for two reasons, I just took up golf and need to learn club distances (and I like the games) and it is going to have Move support (which I'm hoping to get).

Would love to. The control system is set for Move and it'll be easy to go into that control style.
