PS3node: Death Track: Resurrection Review

With only a few exceptions, automotive combat has not been a particularly successful genre; for every Split/Second or Interstate ’76, there are at least five Car Battler Joes and RoadKills. This niche status may be a direct result of the rise of the kart racing genre, which uses weapons more as fun additions to a fundamentally solid racing experience than a main focus, or the popularization of the open-world genre, which puts action-driving mechanics into a more believable, holistic context, but no matter the reason, the end result is that the genre simply is not seeing that many releases these days. For a core group of fans, a worthwhile release in the genre can be a big deal.
