Pirates Of The Caribbean: Armada Of The Damned Is More Than A Pegleg Fable

If the creators of the next Pirates of the Caribbean game had shown me the game's ship combat, I might not have been looking at their game and thinking "Fable clone."

Not that a Fable clone would be bad. In looks and in some manners of the land-based parts of its game design, Pirates of the Caribbean: Armada of the Damned resembles the esteemed action-adventure series on the Xbox 360. With ships, Pirates will surely be able to establish its own identity.

The story is too old to be commented.

Every time a movie franchise spins out a game it sucks balls. The only one I can think of that was half way decent was Two Towers. I will say, however, that the new Transformers game looks like it might be half way decent. Getting pretty decent reviews, too, so I GameFly'd it. Should be here next Tuesday.

Fingers crossed. Breath not being held.

It does look good for a licensed game, and Batman and the new Transformers game have shown us that not all licensed games are bad, as long as they aren't directly related to a movie coming out at the same time, but unfortunately this game brings with it a negative connotation for me as I really didn't care for the movies (and the ride was only so-so, from what I remember going on it as a kid). Pirates are cool, but pirate games are cheesy.
