Sony and Sky to deliver video on demand to PSP

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe and Sky have formed a joint venture company to deliver video-on-demand to PSP owners.

The new company promises to begin by offering "a wealth of video and film content" for the more than 2.3 million PSP owners in the UK and Ireland, with discussions regarding a broader European offering ongoing.

More details will be announced at Games Convention in Leipzig on Wednesday, 22nd August, Sony added.

Further details were not forthcoming, but the platform holder said that both companies would enjoy equal board-level representation.

and Itunes.

If Sony is smart.

Supposedly a rumor of a new PSP in the works.

If So, it will probably have a nice size flash drive like the iPod or some ultra thin hard drive with mega storage space to compensate for the large size and weight a thin hard drive might bring compared to a Flash Drive. Nice thing is, portable videogame machines don't have to be as small or as thin as a music player - as long as the features match the weight and size.

Sure the current owners of PSP can probably get away with a video on demand service, but it still smells of feature that is being created for a newer device in mind.
