See What 'E3' Was Like Twenty Years Ago

Summer CES -- the "E3" of 1990 -- focused on motion control and teaching music through games. How far we've come.

I love the motion gaming devices.

My favorite is the Konami headset that fires when you talk.

How impracticle is that?

what a great article, this is the kind of stuff that should be at the top of the front page here all the time.

Agreed Mr. Canadian Alien. Finally some real reporting.

TruthBTold2729d ago

I fell for Turbo Grafix 16. Had a lot of fun with Keiths Courage and bonks adventure was my favorite. I still remember how some of the bosses would have a bubble of snott after you beat them. We have come far.

I was 18, god I'm old compared to some/most on here.

kaos_fish II2729d ago

I was 20 and based on some of the comments here - damn, I feel old now

Luzce2729d ago

I was 7, and judging by some of the comments here I'm calling you all liars. This is a fanboy website, and we all know fanboys are no older than 14.

extermin8or2729d ago

y r people approving this? the 1st E3 was 1995!

jaredhart2729d ago (Edited 2729d ago )

E3 came from CES because there wasn't enough room for everything.

"As the years wore on, CES got too crowded for the ever-expanding games industry, which needed a show of its own. E3's 1995 debut was an instant success, and for the most part, the game companies have not looked back since."

Like the article says it was the E3 of it's time.

We have come far, very far

Montrealien2729d ago

And we should never forget where we came from, if we wish to truly appreciate were we are.
