GamePro editor Bro Buzz talks to NOA CEO Reggie Fils-Aime about the lack of "hardcore" games, Wii supply shortages, and a shortage of online Wii gameplay (Reggie's response: "Wii will offer more than simply first person shooters online.").
More than first person shooters online? Wouldn't that imply that they actually had a first person shooter online? However, I'm not sure whether developing online FPS games for Wii is a good idea, because FPS fans tend to favor 360. Red Steel sold well, but I think it had to do more with the hype and lack of good games than showing FPS viability on Wii. I think Reggie knows this too.
As far as online games go, Soldat-like game could be cool for Wii as well as some Mii-based fighters with 1-1 controls. SSBB online is a must.
EDIT - to thisisim:
Yeah, I understood what he meant, but he said it incorrectly, although in a clever, politician-like way. It should be rephrased to "Something other than first person shooters online".
Rute, you missed the point. He's certainly not saying that Nintendo has 1st person shooters online. He's pointing out how Nintendo's online strategy is different. When you think online and XBox at the same time, what do you think of? Probably 1st person shooters - which isn't necessarily a bad thing.
The point is that Nintendo and online is not the same as XBox and online or PS3 and online.
still the codes for going online with friends suck, so if they somehow change it, then it would be ok, if not, it will be hard to find new friends or friends to play
You do realize that you can play random against others just like any other system?
And like Pokemon battle @ the end of each battle you can swap codes.
And EA is having his own system for its madden.
I do think they will come up with something else to replace the Codes, even they must acknowledge the pain.
You do realize that you could go to web site and find new friend or a clan. at the end of wifi battle you have a choice to pick friend or rival if you want to.
just think about your FC has a telephone number.
there are alot of site that deal with FC all around the world.
