Crytek Preps for PS3

Job listings on German developer Crytek's official website reveals that the FarCry studio is currently in search of a console programmer for the PlayStation 3. Though the employment description doesn't specifically name which project the team needs the PS3 expertise for, it does reveal some interesting requirements -- namely the responsibility of developing a next-generation framework based on CryEngine 2.0 and the need for creating solutions for PS3 porting.

Crytek already has xbox 360 developers. This is because they released Far Cry for the xbox 360 already.

Ubisoft developed Far Cry Instincts Predator under license by Crytek.

I imagine Crytek will follow the same model for the console releases of Crysis also and eventual;ly sell it off wehen they make their next engine and game also. It is a good source of money to spurn the money needed to dev elop a new engine and game.

CRYTEK WILL COME OUT FOR THE PS3,NOT THE 360 BECAUSE THE 360 IS,NT POWERFUL ENOFF.WHILE THE PS3 IS THATS WHY THEY ADVERTISEING PROGRAMMERS FOR THE PS3 AND NOT THE 360.

i think he said it a bit hursh, but i think what he said is true. i think they look for ps3 programmers because they want to programm crysis for ps3, but this is only my opinion.

Sony fanboys surely cannot get much dumber than you!!!!

Your the dumbest [email protected] period.

"360 not powerfull enough" did uncle ken tell you that or did you come up with that theory all by your self? please shut up.

don't jump down bill's throat too much. his logic is no more flawed than most of the other 360 and PS3 fanboys who help turn this site into a cesspool with their senseless garbling. however, he could use a lesson or two in the formation of proper sentence structure. i for one am glad that Crysis--or at least some rendition of a game featuring the CryEngine--will be making its way to the consoles. now i don't have to immediately invest hundreds of dollars in upgrading my PC to Vista. whether or not Crytek chose the PS3 due to its supposed superiority over the 360 is merely a matter of speculation. as such, and to try to retain some civility in this thread i won't bother to offer my opinion as to why they chose the PS3. that they did is all gravy to me.

First of all, an ad for PS3 programmers has nothing to do with Cryteks plans for the 360 - lets leave the news to what it is and not try and extrapolate limited information into an indictment of one console or another. Secondly, you'll likely not see a lot of ads for "360 programmers" because MS's toolset for development is absolutely brilliant (as I understand it) and makes porting a peice of cake (didn't they show a build of Warhammer Online on 360 at E3 and said it only took a few weeks to port and get running?)
