Kotaku: MotorStorm: Apocalypse Hands-on... In 3D

Kotaku writes: "Evolution Studios is leaving the vistas of Monument Valley and the lush jungles of the Pacific for an experience more deadly and destructive with MotorStorm: Apocalypse, it's latest combative racer for the PlayStation 3. Oh, it's in 3D!

That's how I played my first session of MotorStorm: Apocalypse, strapped into a mean virtual muscle car with 3D glasses strapped on to my head. Just last week, I played MotorStorm: Pacific Rift in 3D and loved it. The more frantic pace of MotorStorm: Apocalypse was less idyllic in 3D, but much more dramatic, as the race course fell apart and reassembled around me." (Motorstorm 3, MotorStorm: Apocalypse, PS3)

Yes Motorstorm is good but it's Kotaku and I won't give them the benefit of a click regardless of what they say ONCE in a while.

Motorstorm is such a good franchise. 3D support ...its just too damn expensive to get going...awesome tho.

Look at it from the bright side
Whenever we are able to afford 3DTVs we will already have games to try out our new TVs.

Some people buying TVs now won't have much to use them with, so buying the game and knowing it supports 3D it's all good.

I tried it at E3 in 3D
Its damn amazing. Building collapsing and the fallout and dust rushing to your face.

How long did you play with the glasses? I wonder what the battery life are on the 3d glasses?

I hated the change
but after seeing a HD video of all the stuff going on, I might have to reconsider.

You should I already play the ms3 demo in 3d
And is mindblowing

i'm not surprised, i've been reading lots of positive review of MS:A recently and many said it's easily the most impressive 3D implementation thus far. Between Twisted Metal and KZ3, MS:A is one of my most anticipated 2011 release.

One question, do you wear glasses? I've yet to try out 3D demos and i'm curious if it causes any discomfort to people already wearing glasses

The Samsung ones are fine over glasses. Can't speak to the Panasonic (i've read in reviews they're noticeably heavier, but have had no personal experience with them).

This game has a lot of potential. Don't know if it was me or if 3D made the game really laggy though. Screen was pretty dark also but the earthquake effects were amazing. People thought Split Second's effects were awesome? Wait until they see this game in action.

It's the Lunatics!
I was worried about the setting for this new motorstorm but knowing the lunatics since motorstorm 1 of course they would ride out in a apacolyse!

The track forms around you?
That's insane. I bought modnation racers for the kids. Motorstorm is for me.
I can play all 4 games back to back & now in 3D!

Never bought a MS game before
But this looks really good from what i`ve seen. I`ve always felt the MS games could use better crashes like Burnout, so i was glad to read this : "Perhaps the most minor of those new additions is a newer, optional control layout. It essentially swaps the braking buttons with the ramming buttons, an update that might point to a stronger emphasis on the physical battle between MotorStorm: Apocalypse racers."

How great wouldn`t it be to shash someone off the track and have him get burried under a collapsing house.

I'm a 360 fanboy.
But this looks like a must buy.

Looks very Hollywood.

Loving the change from the old style.
Anyone know release date?

i have played it in 3D!!! it looks spectacular , intense , chaotic !!!! its in my opinion the most impressive 3D game i have played , not even Killzone 3 or Gran Turismo 5 look as good as Motorstorm Apocalypse in 3D.
i still dont understand how sony didnt let Motorstorm Apocalypse have its own time to shine at the press conference , they wanted to show the 3D technology well the best game to do it was Motorstorm Apocalypse , Killzone 3 looks good too and i understand sony wants to make it the premier shooter on the system but Motorstorm deserve more attention from them ,i mean its one of the 3 most popular new IPs from them this generation , you guys gonna love it when u play it in 3D!!
LUNATICS UNITE!!!!!
