RUMOUR: Nintendo 3DS Launches September 19th?

It looks as if the Nintendo 3DS could possibly be launching in North America this year, a possible slip up in an article written by venturebeat.com shows that Nintendos new console which takes advantage of the latest 3D technology without glasses could see a September 2010 launch.

"Nintendo is going to clean up in the fall with this device, which launches Sept. 19 in North America. The only thing we are waiting on is the price."

*Now, is the 3DS the next gen DS or is it like the DSlite, DSXL, DS etc, a version of the current gen DS that can do 3D?

*If it is the next gen DS, are there any vids showing games running on it and if so could you pls linky?

*Was it announced at the Ninty conference of it's launch date? I don't remember seeing it.

It's the successor to the DS. There's only really demos right now but they're all real time. There's a video of the 3D Metal Gear Solid 3 port somewhere. I'll see if I can find a link.

September? That's a pretty ambitious release goal in my opinion. October sounds more reasonable.

I doubt it. That's probably a price-drop date for the DSLite and DSi/XL.

Nintendo always launches in Japan 1st, to my recollection, and Japan isn't supposed to get the 3DS until ~March 2011.

Actually 3DS is being released BEFORE March 2011 and it's possible they'll go for a worldwide release because they want to stop piracy in Europe and they've commented that America picks up on trends slower than the UK and Japan.

That sounds very possible. It seems like the 3DS is already complete, since they mass produced them for E3. There were like 200 hot women on that stage, each holding a 3DS.

I really hope so too! I bought Soul Silver a while ago but I only have a DS Phat, and the screen is just crap. It's all scratched and everything. I was gonna buy a DSi but Nintendo sold me on the 3DS, so the sooner the better!

For me Xbox360 and Nintendo Wii are dead even when they will recive Halo Reach, Gears 3, Metroid and Zelda Wii.

The future for me will be PS3 + PSP+PSp2+ DS+ 3Ds .

I doubt it. everything at E3 are only stage demos. there wouldnt be much for launch titles.

also i wasnt aware that this is actually a next generation DS. thought it was just another version of the DS. curious how beefed up the new processor is and what its capable of.
