PC is removed for the game so.
http://www.konami.jp/mgsr/e... yeah but I don't know about all that cutting in the game-play, got mix feelings about this one.. will have to wait until I see more of the game before I can pass judgment.. :)
The game looks cool, but I don't think it's deserving of the Metal Gear name. MG is all about stealth, tactics and relying on intelligence and skill to succeed. MG rising consists of a gay ninja cutting f*cking everything in half.
It is Metal gear Risisng and that is it... No SOLID at all.
lol, just noticed that gonna edit that. EDIT; @Despair, yes that's what I meant. It's still a good game, just doesn't fit as well in the Metal Gear universe. EDIT:Dramscus, I'm pretty sure it can be called either, can we discuss the point I made instead of how I made it?
You're right. It shouldn't be Metal Gear SOLID just Metal Gear.
he was actually talking about Metal Gear universe that was always about stealth.
Watch the video it clearly says metal gear solid rising.
It is still in the same universe, staring Metal Gear characters. Not what we're used to, but I'd leave the name. Looks interesting if nothing else. I'm betting Snake pops up somewhere to save the day.
It SHOULD just be called "Rising" but it won't because then it would be a mediocre game that sells like shit rather than a mediocre game that sells decently only because the name alone.
Actually, the solid in metal gear solid refers to the transition that metal gear made in going from 2d to 3d. Thats why the orignal games were named metal gear, with the first metal gear game on the ps1 adding the solid at the end. Heard that explanation somewhere, but still could be wrong. I suppose thats why they still have the solid in rising.
I'm not too sure about this game now. Looks kinda cool, but I don't want it to be a hack and slash. Heres hoping that the Metal Gear solid collection comes out.
does anyone know that SOLID is not a reference to Solid Snake? It was used In the PS1 title to emphasise the fact the game has gone 3-D in terms of graphics.
You all know that there is no SOLID in the name... Disagree you stealth trolls.
lol I noticed that too. You were just correcting my mistake.
It's not an MG game at all. It's like others have said, a ninja gaiden-like game with MGS as the brandname to support it. Somehow, I don't think Kojima likes the direction (heavily 3rd person action based) of the game but has to be there to ensure it doesn't tarnish the metal gear universe he created. I think he'd rather his metal gear games be more towards tactical espionage and not hack-and-slash.
I'm still excited for this game and this focuses on Raiden. He's a ninja bad*ss, you think he's gonna sneak around everywhere. His transformation into this seperate game looks very interesting. As long as it has a decently fluid and more complex battle system then I'm all for it.
It should be called 'Ninja Raiden: Lightning Bolt Action' On-topic: I have to see more of this. Not much on my radar.
To bad all what people are saying about is how bad Mircosoft's E3 conference was but this game surely looks bad-ass.
they showed gears, fable, halo, forza, Risisng what the other i forget
their was Call of Duty too which didn't look half-bad.
i get wanting to see what you cut but it looked like a 2D sidescroler bet'm up
thats what i was saying it looked sidescroller with 3d design, and if he can cut through anything in one hit then every enemy is dead with one slash? WTF?
SOLID was never meant to be SOLID snake, it was the whole 3D solid vision Kojima was taking the series into with PS3.
Guys, if you go to Kojima's e3 2010 website, there's a space there left for one more game to revealed. Check this link http://konami.jp/kojima_pro...
Great find, I really want it to be.... Zone of the Enders!
or it might be mgs5 with a new mgo
mgs4 directors cut! :P
Is it really that difficult to throw the latest Flash update in there with the normal PS3 updates?? >:|
But I'll allow it. : )
Can't see the Rising website without Flash. Can't watch any E3 streaming vids without Flash. My PC is down atm and I need my E3 footage, damn it.
heh that's up to adobe. =P
I want me some lightning base action. The game looks sick.
Agreed, Raiden has redeemed his pansy @ss self from MGS2 in this incarnation
We've seen like 30 seconds of gameplay and people are already passing judgement. You're a freakin ninja. Ninjas are sneaky. Something tells me the game is about figuring out how to kill everyone with the least amount of blade strokes and using the scenery to your benefit, and i dont mean taking cover.
Cyborg ninja lightning sword slice n' dicing simulator. SOLD!
is that the unreal engine? thats what it looks like
it does look interesting, and the game screams MOVE since you certainly can't play it with Kinect.
it looks fuckin badass cant wait to play it on my ps3 =]
Very long time MGS player here ( Dec 1998 ). Don't even care for this none sense game. It has no reason, no feeling and Raiden is not and never will be a lead guy. This is going to be a hack and slash that will wake Kojima back up with crappy sales. Saying bring back Snakes or just retire it all. Move on to those " other " games.
Raiden now has his own game. He's a leading man. I too love metal gear games and happen too think this looks at least intriguing. You sir are a hater afraid of change. *double takes* DECEMBER of 1998!? DECEMBER!? Impressive. Wait, no its not.
Hate to break it you to as well. Watch the sell figures for it.... Come see me then. You have no clue about MGS looking at your reply. For MGS is not some hack and slash lets make a video game. It was and is a epic journey. This spin off is something Kojima used to break away from David Hayter. That's my personal take on the relationship and from interviews I've seen over the last few years. So by all means, enjoy the standard video game. Won't do well in sells. Oh and welcome one of the newest member's to the site... You born in the 1990's, lol.?
