Analysis: Microsoft’s Kinect Controller Is a Wii-Too Product

Here at the Electronic Entertainment Expo, the Xbox maker is pulling out all the stops and breaking the bank to introduce Kinect, the upcoming camera-based motion controller that Microsoft hopes will get your mom, your little sister and your granddad to play the Xbox 360.

If you think that sounds like the company is chasing the success of Nintendo’s Wii, you’re not alone. And Microsoft isn’t even bothering to hide its ambition. At its E3 press conference Monday morning, almost every single game Microsoft showed off for Kinect had a smash Nintendo hit as its inspiration.
