First official trailer of the Star Wars game that takes advantage of Kinect.
Seems neat. I'm always up for more Star Wars.
Personally, it looked lame. the character itself didn't look too responsive, movement was limited, and it was all a pre-recorded trailer. I'll take Force Unleashed 2 over this any day.
Yup, it looked way too limited. That was the most "hardcore" game they showed too. Not only am I not a Star Wars fan but the gameplay looked weak.
And even the redesign wasn't that good. At 300 bucks it will not help much. #1.4.1 1m ago by Imperator | View comment LOL, just like always. MS had a horrible conference so they give away "gifts" #1.2 2m ago by Imperator | View comment You know what's sad? Even though Sony hasn't had their conference, they've already won. They reveled so many amazing games that they trump MS even before they've started. #1.4 3m ago by Imperator | View comment I think it's just an update, but it was not a good demo. I mean, you could do all that with much more precision and ease using a controller. Kinetic = fail. #1.1 17m ago by Imperator | View comment That Star wars games was full of fail. The character wasn't even responding well and it was pre recorded trailer. #1 22m ago by Imperator | View comment After that TERRIBLE presentation, I don't care about the price. I will not buy it. #1.2 24m ago by Imperator | View comment I'm shocked you didn't like it. It's Star Wars and it has you waving a lightsaber and using force powers. It will be a huge system seller for Kinect.
The force powers looked cool. The lightsaber stuff looked lame as all lame can ever be lame. I'll be excited for a move game that uses a lightsaber.
@Soda Yes, those would be my opinions on the conference. I'm sure I'm not the only one who felt that way. It was a boring, dull conference that focused on already revealed games and boring casual games. Are you excited about that? Seriously?
Sony has lord of the rings... (well sharing with the wii...)
"It will be a huge system seller for Kinect." You the new Patcher or what?
it looked fake lol, sorry to keep saying the same thing in all the threads but 80% of what was shown looked fake and either CGI or they were just pretending to play. The demos that they were actually playing looked really laggy and glitchey as hell, the lag was especially noticeable on the Yoga game.
It's a rail shooter. And amazingly was part of the video last night...as in exactly the same part.
This is exactly what I was thinking. I'm not sure if everyone else noticed this or not. This is the question I've been wondering about with regards to Natal/Kinect the entire time. How do you do a controllerless game and still be able to have the character move about in 3d space? A person's living room is only so big. The answer? You don't. Shooters will be limited to being of the rail variety unless MS incorporates the controller into the game for basic analog stick move/look movement at which point Natal...erm...Kinect doesn't really make sense anymore.
no way was that realtime gameplay. It looked faked to me might be an ok game, tho i very much doubt it Now its up to sony to one up them shouldn't be difficult
This is the most boring E3 ever!!! The most lamest sh!t is the new addition of ESPN channel.. PATHETIC!
To me it looked like it would be fun for all of 30 seconds. Stormtroopers! Wave your arms! More stormtroopers! Wave your arms! Vadar! Wave your arms! Is the action in this game simply going to consist of the character moving endlessly forward while wildly flailing?
One word: Rails
was this "exclusive" partnership. I'm a huge Star Wars fan, and expected a bad ass game w/ my PS3 and Move. Not that I love the Move, but more or less the possibilities Lucasarts had. But now it doesn't seem I'll get that chance. Then again I guess we don't know what the partnership all holds. Maybe its just that one game? Fingers crossed we get a little more than FU2, which should be awesome
imperator = SKCShifty PS3 version xD pathetic both of you! - on topic - this game looks horrible. actually, all the games for Kinect with exception of the exercise game (it actually looked cool) and the dance game look HORRIBLE
this is the only thing that caught my attention
yeah and I don't even like Star Wars much.
on the same level as the force unleashed.. kind of reminds me of the 90's Mortal Kombat games but vertical. the future? meh
they guy was pretending to play yesterday and pass it as if he was actually playing?
someone is playing this though, yesterday they had someone miming to this guys movements.
Mcardle you must of seen someone the rest of us didn't. It was just a video to me.
He wasn't pretending, Kinect apparantly uses jedi mind tricks to predict your movements. lol
at the part of the people dancing on stage.. they screwed up and they switch over to the pre recorded footage FAKE lol im guessing their trying to prevent a fail
More bubbles for you.
It is exactly the same video, and now you know its just a CGI! The guy who played it was faking everything, M$ is such liar!
yeah this was bad
worst E3 conference ever
But for me this game looks terrible honestly
ya, why is no one questioning the fact that they didn't live demo this game. Overall I was very disappointed in there conf, I thought i was watching freaking nintendo up there.
Can people even be excited for a star wars game any more?
not if Star Wars is supporting a lame peripheral.
So it looke like the 360 has become the most casual system on the market in one day... how embarrassing...
That was awful.
Well, the Kinect showing was most certainly MUCH better than last night, but this conference was terrible. There were like, what... 3 hardcore titles shown off?
How do you walk in this game? And adjust the camera? Let me guess, you can't...
they don't care about that stuff
Is there is no feedback to the user other than visual. It would be nice if they gave you a lightsaber to carry while playing the game that gave haptic feedback so that you actually feel like you are part of the game. Of course that goes away from the heart of the no controller aspect of konnect. Standing around flailing around my arms pretending I have a lightsaber just doesn't seem too fun.
watch the video again, my wife pointed out it is a green screen with an actor.
and voicecontrol..sounds cool, but isn't userfriendly... (I don't want handwaving for controlling movies..., or yelling at movies... just use a controller... with BUTTONS) He said... now you don't need to know buttons anymore.... well but you need to know commands instead... It's just plain irritating " Xbox stop, xbox play... xbox away...(flying out of the house) "
LucasArts needs to work on the collision because that looked awful. If I'm wielding a light saber and I strike an enemy with it I'm going to want to feel like I actually hit them.
I feel like they should take a note from MGS Rising and actually cut the stormtroopers in half. I mean, it's a lightsaber for Pete's sake.
I'm sorry but this looks bloody awful.
i'm not impressed .. the repelling of the beam was badly done ..and i wasn't impressed by the graphics either. This will need a lot of work to be fun .. especially since you have no feedback on your hands ..
As much as I love SW, this looked to be like a flaming pile of crap if I've ever seen one.
That looked like PS2. Kinect fails already. The crowd didn't even cheer loud
So you just stand in one spot flailing your arms around when you play this game? Boring.
The demo of the game seemed stilted. I noticed that the AI seemed to look the other way, or rather wasn't looking at the character, but sort of waiting to be slaughtered. In these type of games your going to have to wait for the human interaction to catch up so your going to have to make the AI a bit slower (in my opinion). That being said it just seemed idk...hollow. I will admit the idea behind Kinect is ideal, but the realization and implementation is not.
and people complained about flailing around with the wii? how do you think people will look when they play this? LOL
Hopefully they show way more down the road.
