E3 2010: What's in Microsoft's Conference?

CVG: It's all about Natal at E3 for the Xbox 360. Natal, Natal, Natal...that's if it'll even be called that when everyone leaves Hollywood. While Microsoft may, and we mean may, also announce the release of a Slim Xbox and easy in some details about 3D gaming on their platform we can't confirm this as being anything but rumour. Either way, Natal will carry them through. That and Gears of War 3, Halo: Reach and Fable III.

i am wondering if MS will actually go 3D also
They said that they don't really care for it but i think it will end up being important both Nintendo and Sony are going for it i just don't see why MS shouldn't

Johnny Rotten2620d ago

they also said they didn't need HDMI.

Nitrowolf22620d ago

yeah i think which is why i think they will go for 3D also.

niceguywii602620d ago

Sony said multi player on consoles was ridiculous and that payed subscription was a bad idea. What is your point?

Hideo_Kojima2620d ago (Edited 2620d ago )

Are they going to open the doors on Natal?

Cause if they are not am sure they will be showing that new smoke machine along with some mirrors that my friend said they are carrying into E3.

Edit: @niceguywii60 yep and the CEO of Sony told Geoff Keighley in 2005 that the Killzone 2 trailer was 100% in game and the GG team had the toolkits for the PS3 for a while now and they were able to make it in a few months blablabla...

Everyone troughs a lie there and then but the thing is if they fill it up with a real product in the end.

ThanatosDMC2620d ago

Sony is paving the road while MS looks to see what they can monopolize out of it.

if your asking me, no point really, but you make a good point too!

ALFAxD_CENTAURO2620d ago (Edited 2620d ago )

Xbox 360 have HDMI Version 1.2

3D Needs HDMI 1.3 or 1.4

And not to mention, and knowing MS, they charge in anything, probably could MS charge to upgrade to 3D and obviously for the HDMI 1.3 or 1.4, double price.

pimpmaster2620d ago (Edited 2620d ago )

i already looked into this, even if your tv has 120 hz refresh rate or higher it doesnt support 3d cause it doesnt input 120hz it simulates it by replicating the image 4 times. point is , everyone that bought a hdtv thats not 3d got screwed. :(

stop making it seem like ps3 is all high and mighty cause it has 1.3hdmi you still need at LEAST a 2000$ 3d tv to play it. not to mention ps3 3d update is going to be on a per game basis so you can expect about as many games on ps3 to support 3d as ps3 games that support in game music, in other words buying a 3d tv is a waste of money cause theres not enough content and because the tvs are so expensive.

ALFAxD_CENTAURO2620d ago (Edited 2620d ago )

I never talk or mention anything related with PS3.

I'm talking about 1.2 is not supported and old.

Boody-Bandit2620d ago (Edited 2620d ago )

I have already seen 3D displays on sale for $1499 <-- I have spent more money than that just on a center channel speaker for my gaming setup this week. It's all a matter of what you want or can afford. Gaming is my main vice so it's here I spent most of my disposable income.

I wouldn't be surprised if you will be able to pick up a 3D display near the 1K mark, or possibly even lower, come Fall or Winter 2010.

ThanatosDMC2620d ago

120Hz 52" Bravia is actually cheap now. Compared to how it was back then which was around $3000+ now it's about 1/3 of that price. It also helps A LOT if you have a Best Buy employee friend for discounted prices.

I think is what MS meant.
Its really too early for 3D.

It will be a mistake though to conclude that MS will not jump-in when it becomes hot. I think they'll do a good job with it too.

Hideo_Kojima2620d ago

Is that what they did with HD?

Because their choices left a lot of users without HDMI slots...

3D is HOT now.
They better jump in before it gets cold.

butterfinger2620d ago

3D is an extremely overpriced and underperforming technology that is still in the earliest stages of consumer adoption. 3D is nothing like HD/blu ray adoption, and it will be a slow process. Microsoft may sell a few more consoles if they included a blu ray player, but they 3D isn't even close to a system selling feature right now.

Unknown2620d ago

look at how long it took people to adopt HD. I mean the government practically had to force consumers to switch by dropping analog so think that consumers are just going to jump on the 3D bandwagon because of AVATAR or a handful of 3D games? Technophilies and Vidophilies yes....the average consumer no. ESPECIALLY not when they JUST bought an HD TV just to be able to watch TV. But if anyone can help accelarate the adoption rate of technology it's SONY. Whether you like PS3 or SONY, you have to admit that they're very good at getting consumers to adopt new tech...will in regards to TV's and disc formats anyhow.

Micorsoft always says they wont do something then sony or nintendo prove it works then microsoft follows.

-Alpha2620d ago (Edited 2620d ago )

All companies pretty much have to say that. It's too harmful to say "We think Blu Ray is great, and our product is inferior for not having it" so they have no choice but to ignore it or act like it doesn't matter.

It works all ways actually. Nintendo for example justifies its poor online by saying it's not good for kids, but really, they need to get with the times.

Blu Ray comes to mind, and now that I think of it if the new 360 model has Blu Ray then it's going to be pretty big news. If MS either reveals a price cut or reveals the new model has Blu Ray then it's going to be great news, but really, I'm just getting over-excited at this point. What is the likelihood of Blu Ray on the 360 at this point?

Regarding 3D, it's getting pushed but it's too early to tell with 3D. If it ends up being a huge benefit then MS will surely have to follow, but really, it's too early to tell with 3D. Sony is really pushing E3 and I don't think MS really cares at the moment.

Mustang300C20122620d ago (Edited 2620d ago )

Kind of like Achievements right? Or going to a premium service right? Rumble for this generation right? Same thing correct?

Contradicting don't you think?

ThanatosDMC2620d ago (Edited 2620d ago )

He's talking about Six Axis not having vibration function but the thing is it's because of a lawsuit.
