And now Sony claims Move will be treated like a new console launch

Microsoft has consistently been crying out that Project Natal will be treated like the launch of a new console. But up until now, we haven't heard such huge intentions from the Sony camp. However, recently taking a leaf out of the MS PR book, Peter Dille of Sony claimed that in many ways Move is being treated like the launch of a 'new platform'. He continued that it will help Sony to expand the audience of PS3 users.

Yeah. This isn't new info, nor does it really change anything. Like Microsoft, all they're saying is that they will also provide Move only games going forward the way there are Natal only games.

PlayStation Move to be launched like a console was post E3 2009 news.

Montrealien2932d ago

I said this while ago. And was mocked for it.

MisterNiwa2932d ago

Well, even though they disagreed with you doesnt mean that it is nonsense.

In the end one of these trolls or fanboys will say 'I ALWAYS TOLD YOU' about the same thing they disagreed with you.

Otherwise, it’s going to end up like the eyetoy.

D4RkNIKON2932d ago

Sad but true. We don't want that happening

ThatCanadianGuy2932d ago

Yeah, we don't want it selling 10 million.

WildArmed2932d ago

Agreed.
But why does the title make it sound like a bad thing?

I think what 360 n ps3 are doing w/ their motion controls is necessary.
It's almost a reboot of their consoles.

No it wasn't, they just didn't support it with many games or advertise it enough and that was a bad thing

R2D22932d ago

did not push/market the eye toy more than they did. People say the reason is because developers were not jumping in but from what I herd Sony had alot of 1st party studios when the Eye Toy was released.

For Sony to be succefull with Move the need to rely on the 1st party studios who know how to harnest the power of the cell and show the world that when you combine the PS3/Sony LED TV/Move/3D the gaming world can be much more than your playground.

WildArmed2932d ago (Edited 2932d ago )

So wasn't the pseye.
They just lacked support.. alot.
I THANK sony for using the PS eye for Move.
Otherwise, I'd be pretty pissed that they abandoned it..
bcoz i still own mine since 08.. and havn't used it for much since then

doG_beLIEfs2932d ago

I use mine as a microphone...and my kids still mess around with eye create from time to time. The Move has been a long time coming, so it is my guess that when Sony released the Eye they knew that it would be a part of Move so they decided to not waste time and money on just the Eye and instead concentrate on making the Move what it is today.

And yes....as proven already Sony said this back at GDC.

WildArmed2932d ago

I tried using mine as a mic, but it got too much feedback from the TV and other people talking in the next room.
IDK, i guess it was just me.
