VG247: A VG247 source has claimed that the premium service to be announced for PlayStation Network at Sony’s E3 press conference on Tuesday is named “Service Pack”.
Should have kept is simple and called it "PSN+." Though Service Pack suggest other levels. Service Pack 0, Service Pack 1, Service Pack 2. Start it at $4 a month building to $9.
PSN+ sounds cool. They should have called it the stimulus package, but this would be something that actually works. TGSI
Does everything have to revolve around MW2?? Plus 'Stimulus Package'?! How is us giving them money a stimulus package?? PSN+ was good, 'Service Pack' not so much.
PSN+ better is sounding and easier to understand :D ... Service Pack sounds I don' know, not so cool :/
But as long as it has features that are worth the money then I will pay for it.
Service Pack just sounds lame. I wouldn't even use it to distinguish between different offerings within the PSN premium or whatever it will really be called.
I agree. "PSN+" is sexy. "Service Pack" just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
Sony whatever you do just bring cross game chat and ill be happy to pay but NOT like XBL where its overpriced.
lol overpriced us$3 by month? hahahah you want cross game chat and pay us$1?? LMAO
id rather pay less and get the same things on PSN but if u can tell me whats exclusive on XBL that its worth paying and no mate im in Asutralia and i pay 80$ every year. edit:let me guess exclusive demos lmaooooooo
Last time I remember its $7.99 a month for Live. Where do people get $3.
have X-game chat as a paid feature on PSN. Unless the bundle includes other things I really really find value in, I can't see myself paying for X-game chat and I can't see many of the people on my friends list doing that either. There are about 80people on the friends list now and it'll be interesting to see how many of them use paid X-game chat. I'm guessing X-game chat will be disabled for competitive online MP gaming though... it better be.
I know that on 360 the party chat is disabled for some of the competitive playlists in games like COD and halo. Im guessing that most devs know about it, and if they dont, people will probably complain. Then they could patch it.
I don't care what it's called, just as long as the online stays free I'll check out their prices and what they have to offer.
It's not going to charge for something that's already available for free. The new premium service will be new features only. They've mentioned this a few times.
exactly. They aren't going to make you pay for stuff you already have now for free. This is just added content; if you find value in them, you pay; if not, you don't.
I think it will be called PSN+ but have different service packs you can get.
Hmm, despite it being called that with enough people wanting it to be changed it probably could be. Anyway this is stated as rumor so who knows if it is to be true.
A music streaming device similar to Spotify?? SOLD.
update: the service pack is a code name the service will be called PSN+
Yeah, PSN+ is just too obvious.
While a paid service does indeed sound interesting, I'll wait to see the official announcement before deciding which way to go here. The core of what PSN is remains free, and for now that is what's important.
you mean like MICROSOFT windows SERVICE PACK. I doubt it.
No one should care how it is called, but rather when it will launch, what features it will have and most importantly the price... now those are the things we really need to know. Sony has to offer me some really good features, to get me to pay. Because where I live "Live" costs ~100$ and not to mention that my average salary is around 700$ a month. So if they charge as much MS, then it has to be really really worth it.
