Innovation= Awesome, I would definitely buy Rock Band 3 if the Piano mechanics work. This definitely steps Rock Band 3 up ahead of Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock.
I can't wait to hear more about RB3.
Innovation is awesome except the fact that the whole rockband franchise ripped off Konami's Guitar Freaks, Drummania and now Keyboard Mania. Here's a vid of Keyboard Mania: http://www.youtube.com/watc...
So what if they ripped off Konami? Few Bemani games we're ever available in the US other than DDR. Look at how Rock Revolution turned out when they tried to combine DrumMania and GuitarFreaks to compete with RB/GH.
It may not be the first, but I've played drummania and Rockband does a far better job of mimicking actual drumming.
After looking at the image, I am going to assume that there will be some sort of device that has 8 buttons on it for your fingers. Or maybe something similar to your keyboard without all the extra keys.
actually it's way more than 8 boutons ..it's a true keyboard and the path change corresponding on what difficulty you're in ...
The keyboard looks awesome, I play the keyboard in real life so this is great news.
I have hammered away at 88 keys since I was 4 years old. This looks like it could work rather well.
How do chords and melodies work? im a piano player too... :\
As another person who has played the piano since a young kid, this does look promising. I was skeptical that it would be like 5-6 keys or something stupid. This image takes that skepticism away.
Actually doG beLIEfs, it's 25 keys :D It also has a midi out port so u can use it as a real lil keyboard.
More "variety" in Rock band will be a nice change at least in my opinion it would give players at least one more option thus far of a new instrument. Especially keyboard players, not to mention a lot of rock songs with keyboards melodies mixed into them are quite nice.
i was about to go buy 1 :/ and now this lol im way behind.
Some tracks have been confirmed too. 2000s Combat Baby -- Metric Dead End Friends -- Them Crooked Vultures Get Free -- The Vines Lasso -- Phoenix Me Enamora -- Juanes Oh My God -- Ida Maria Portions of Foxes -- Rilo Kiley The Hardest Button to Button -- The White Stripes 1990s Been Caught Stealing -- Jane's Addiction In the Meantime -- Spacehog Plush -- Stone Temple Pilots Walkin' on the Sun -- Smash Mouth 1980s Crazy Train -- Ozzy Osbourne Here I Go Again -- Whitesnake I Love Rock and Roll -- Joan Jett Just Like Heaven -- The Cure Rainbow in the Dark -- Dio The Power of Love -- Huey Lewis and the News Sister Christian -- Night Ranger 1960s-1970s Bohemian Rhapsody -- Queen Break On Through -- The Doors Crosstown Traffic -- Jimi Hendrix
Does this mean we might see synthesizer heavy stuff by by The Cars?
this may actually improve someone's keyboarding in real life! it looks just like a MIDI keyboard so octaves shouldn't be a problem unlike with the guitar peripherals where it had an unrealistic amount of notes to relate with the music. this is innovative in my opinion since it looks like it can improve your piano playing skills.
get some industrial in that song list
i really wish they would have came out with this sooner. would have been epic in the Beatles RB
Bring it on
I stopped playing guitar her and such around guitar hero 3, didnt want to commit all the money for the next installation, or for rock band. Didnt try for Dj hero because again, didnt want to commit the money. And now, im a keyboard player. The keyboard is going to be ruined by this game, in music, you easily hitting 5 or six notes at once, not to mention all the theory of chords and scales i had to learn for piano, im disappointed at this even though i always wanted a keyboard in the genre. although i am all for inovation in this genre, and i am happy this is uncluded, i once again will not buy into this genre, just too expensive, and liek my friends who play guitar and drums also say. "Why bother when you can do the real thing?" I guess it will still be huge, and granted i will still play it and have fun with it at parties.
