Guardian: Super Mario Galaxy 2 Review #2

Guardian writes: "In a time when sequels are the norm rather than the exception, it's odd to think that the existence of a Super Mario Galaxy 2 is a surprise, but Nintendo's flagship series hasn't seen a direct follow-up on the same console for 20 years. Despite the universal acclaim for the 2007 original, creative mastermind Shigeru Miyamoto suggested that "too conservative" level design and a surfeit of leftover ideas were good enough reasons for a successor that Nintendo internally referred to as "Mario Galaxy 1.5". Yet from the sumptuous opening stages, it's clear that this is no mere expansion."
