I know right? If you go to any other site, people love Gabe. He's actually a very modest person. He makes jokes about himself, he responds to fan emails.

He doesn't really belong on this list, and pretty much nobody besides Jack Thompson belongs on this list. This list is only catering to the PS3 crowd.

Aaron Greenburg and Yoichi Wada and Gabe Newell have all apparently offended the PS3 fanboys to such an extent that the PS3 fanboys have deluded themselves into the thinking that everyone hates these guys.

Boo hoo, Yoichi Wada wanted to create Western ties with Microsoft. Suddenly, he's a traitor.

Aaron Greenburg is paid to spin everything about the 360 in a positive light. That is his FUCKING job. That's what he's supposed to do. And yet the PS3 fanboys think that he personally is an idiot. As if they even know what he is like in real life.

Thirdly, Gabe Newell can say whatever the fuck he wants about any hardware he wants. He was certainly not criticizing the gaming side of the PS3, just the development side of the PS3. All the Sony first party studios that develop for the PS3 love it because Sony holds their hand. Third party studios in 2006 didn't like the development method for the Ps3. Gabe was upset. He commented on it, and that comment has followed him for years.

i personally cannot stand gabe, not so much for his anti ps3 stance, though he has been a bit of a douchebag about it.
my main issue with gabe and valve is steam.
and the bullshit drm that infests games that force you to use it.
i can understand it on downloads, although it will absolutely not stop piracy, not for more than a few days, or weeks if they're lucky, buit when that piece of crap infests disc games tying them to a single user forever.
and that frakking scumbag has the gall to say he hates drm, frakk you gabe.
you know what's killing the pc games industry? piracy you say? when spore became the most pirated game ever because of the restrictive drm i say drm is the main culprit, and the biggest perpetrator is this virus by another name, gabe frakking newell.
he's the biggest reason i rarely buy pc games anymore.
innocent until proven guilty, not when you buy games, then it's guilty until proven innocent.
you know what that frakkbag's legacy will be? introducing? introducing physics based gameplay? embracing the community and empowering them to create content, most of valves content actually?
no it'll be the pioneering of invasive drm them has virtually no effect on piracy and only inconveniences legitimate buyers, and that lead the whole industry down this slippery slope.
when this bubble bursts and the greed of the industry drags it down you'll be able to trace it all back to that arsehole gabe newell.

no, they're not awesome because they've been making dated fps' for over a decade and are allowed to rest on their laurels. if any other company charged $60 for l4d with its utter lack of content they'd have been laughed out of the industry.

HL1: took the FPS genre to a level never seen before.

HL2: introduced the Source Engine, for it's time in 2004, was the most advanced - graphically and features - engine on the market. no game has yet matched Valve's lipsyncing and facial expressions found in HL2.

I like VALVe for these things, that NO ONE else does, i don't care what you think, it doesn't affect how much I love them.
