1. They give GREAT discounts to students for purchasing software for school.
2. They always release a Military appreciation version of MS office, they also release a Military appreciation 360 bundle with additional stuff in it. (Haven't seen the military appreciation PS3 yet.)
3. They have actually made the gaming genre more competitive which has help in driving innovation in the gaming market.
4. One thing that has always been true is, (don't believe me try it for yourself.) if you have as many hater as MS does then you must be doing something right.

Personally, I don't think Natal is a good fit for driving games, most other genre's I think it will work fine.

Now as for peenywise and the other sony trolls well, of course they don't know that micro has some free offers, SDF members are not well informed about the competition, their just given their talking points and ordered to hit the forums like good little soldiers. You see how peenywise went all off topic about OS, Apps etc, he couldn't help himself, the hate is strong within him....he'll never go off topic about how sony sells the most expensive TV's and everything else they make compared to other quality brands like Samsung, sony's comparable models are usually more expensive, unless the store itself is having a sale, but hey thats busisness. Also micro gives a helluva lot to charity, how much does sony donate? You won't find him calling out sony as the devil when their caught in lies about games being gameplay, or their BS about rumble, BS about consumer working hard, and of course when the premium "paid" psn service comes about it will be great news. You see people only cherry pick the bad things, and YES micro loves money and over-charges for alot of different things, just like most companies.

Problem with this is like the guy in the video said, a racing game is fast so any lag will kill the experience. I'm yet to be convinced that natal is that responsive. And even in the video there was a half second delay.

My other problem with this is, how long will it take before your feet are killing you? Or even your arms? Holding your arms out straight for an hour can get achy and tiring.

And then my biggest problem with it...how does it enhance the experience? I could probably [read: definately] play the game better with a controller. So this game would probably come under the catogory to me of, "play it for 10 minutes to see what its like, but probably never touch it again"

It's not a far cry from the sixaxis ps3 controllers. Some games like burnout, motorstorm and wipeout all have options where you can steer the car by tilting the controller like a steering wheel. And i can guarentee nobody chose that option when properly playing the game. Why? Because it was a gimmick and it was crap

Shadow Flare - Holding your arms out for an hour? How about five minutes. Your arms will get tired even after that short a time.

When playing games with a controller, you get into the most comfortable position, and you rest your arms. When you use motion control on the Wii it is either subtle movements or occasional movement - and you can still hold the controller in the most comfortable postion for you, resting your arms.

With Natal, it is necessarily an active experience in a short burst (at least with the burnout example). Subtle movements will not be well-recognised but more importantly they will be more difficult to judge (there's no spring like on an analogue stick to return your hand to the default position).

It's a little disappointing this game isn't going to be free anymore. I was looking forward to a game that I could just mess around with online and not have to think that much. Pretty much just mess around. If this is true, hopefully they do a good job with the game and it isn't just thrown together quickly just to have a game.

Why do you think I've been dumping on the damn thing all this time? This is a throwaway title, shovelware, that should have been used to show Natal's diversity. Since its already been out should have been right next to "BALL to the Wall!" and more importantly the Burnout demo they retrofitted but had no intention of re-releasing as a full game.

People are going to say this is part of MS's strategy, but considering how in contrast Sony has shown what Move can do with frame work titles, SOCOM4 and open tech demos, this only convinces me that its a bad strategy.

There are quite a few games in the pipeline for Natal Launch. Unlike Sony, Nintendo and MS do not leak all their games before a press conference.
Like it or not, by NOT telling details of Natal games adds the hype. Its called good business practice and since this is a business, thats why they are doing it. Apple for example are masters at this.
It's simply AMAZING that the people on this site have no grasp of this concept. I assume MS for them should have told everything about Natal before its release. LOL

Fable III was also teased to use Natal, Microsoft traditionally saves a lot of their stuff for E3 even if it is going to release in the same year. Take a look at Forza 3 last year, it was announced at E3 and sold over 1 million copies as of December 8th, 2009.

Sony held a separate event for the Move stuff but to be fair, they HAD to since so little was known about Move. Natal however was shown more at E3, TV, etc so they had/have the ability to wait since the hype was already their.

There are videos on youtube with the Game and Sugar Ray Leonard playing burnout on Natal (I think it's burnout). It's the SDF and their belief in the Wii wanna be sex toy that blinds them. You see all the potential in the world in that crap but Natal, oh no it's red ball trash!

yea i think they announced burnout with natal, not sure if it was ever demoed though. So far the only game to get coverage is ricochet, dissapointing but expect a lot more at E3

will this not just be like controlling motorstorm with the six axis; the only difference being that this will have increased lag, will be painful on the arms and feet and be frustratingly less responisve than a device with button feedback. I think for a racing game, and most games, any form of control with an object is a lot more fun and practical than just pretending.

Actually, it is my innate ability to form an opinion based on the information that's readily available. I've seen the lag, I've seen the problems with more complex feedback (natal isn't easier than pressing a button), and have you ever tried waving for more than 30 seconds? It gets sore, and holding your arms out in front of you is even harder. Watch the burnout video and tell me again that what I said can not be justified.

Of course it's my opinion based on the evidence, but you can't accuse me of not thinking logically.

well I can do more than what mere mortals can do, but you make valid points never disputed that. It's refreshing to see people make statements and have legitimate rebuttal when they are questioned. Especially on this site.

On topic however yes I've seen the burnout footage and I personally believe fatigue will play a role for all the motion controlled offerings regardless if something is in one's hand or not, but that can go for anything really that's not done in moderation. Wii elbow, Playstation thumb, etc,. As far as the lag goes I've only read what people have said about lag so I can't and won't make a judgement on the lag of natal as I'm not sure if the media is using a final version or alpha hardware. Not saying that information isn't out there. I'm just that interested in Natal to look for it.
