5 Reasons Why E3 Will Suck (And 5 Things That Would Make It Rock)

GamerCrave.com writes: "It’s that time of year again. E3 2010 is less than two weeks away, and despite past events it looks to be one of common goals: all three hardware manufacturers will represent motion controlled gaming this year. Hooray? But it wouldn’t be E3 without some frustrating, annoying bits. Here are 5 reasons E3 will suck this year, and, to keep things balanced, 5 things that would redeem it."

I agree, a lot of what he said made sense. Although there are probably going to be some good surprises, there always are.

I just hope E3 doesn't focus too much on the motion controls/motion tracking stuff...well, Nintendo will, of course, but I want Sony and Microsoft to show off games for a real gamer, not some already-been-done camera/motion tracking stuff. I've been playing games since the NES. It's really not all that cool to me.

PR hype and flashy announcements haven't impressed me for years. I want real games.

hamoor2752d ago

why we got so many "top ten" and "why this" articles more than actual news?

MasterKen2752d ago

Because it's E3 time. Didn't you read the article? ;)

dardinkay2752d ago

Because your the idiot that wrote the article :P

Anarki2752d ago

You do write some stupid articles, Justin.

DarkSpawnClone2752d ago

lmao yeah there's one every day haha its getting annoying,E3 is not that far away :P

Pretty lame article, if you don't like E3, don't watch it.

Nice shot at the Move btw. Wii Remote 2, Hilarious. /s

And sequels are a bad thing? I guess Uncharted 2, Assassins Creed 2, MGS4, God of War 3, Killzone 2, etc. should never have seen the light of day then? At least according to that logic.

From the article: "From a business perspective it makes sense and I’m certainly looking forward to some sequels, but as a long-time gamer I’d rather see new and fresh."

Take off the fanboy glasses, too - Sony isn't paying you to defend their business interests. It's funny how the article is spot-on with its #5 for the 'how to make it rock' segment: "Everyone loves watching people hurl insults and snide remarks, devoid of all logic and intelligence. Gamers in particular seem to get off on it. Want proof? Check basically any video game forum or the comment section of an article critical of a console manufacturer."

Spot. On.

New IP's are great but they just don't garner the same buzz andexcitement as sequels because little is often revealed aside from some CG trailer or a lousy screenshot...or basically just the title (Agent for example) and while I get excited about such games like The Last Guardian I often reserve my excitement quite a lot because sequels are a more sure bet (financially, in quality and in excitement from the fans).

I'd rather get myself hyped up about Uncharted 3, Gears 3 and Killzone 3 than Agent because I know what I like in those games and what the developers are capable of (more likely to turn out to be something I want to play) and I don't fault E3 for that.

You (oops, sorry the author) says that he tires of sequels yet mentions a new Zelda and Metroid as great and surprising news.

Motion controlls are surely going to be a big part of E3, a big dissapointing part but once they get past that its surely to be enjoyable.

On a side note whats with all the cynicism? I mean at it'll accomplish is a negative outlook on things, things you (sorry the author) scorned the fanboys for being, I'd rather enjoy it(the parts that will be enjoyable) than sit and be sour about it.

"From a business perspective it makes sense and I’m certainly looking forward to some sequels, but as a long-time gamer I’d rather see new and fresh."

And what makes you think I was speaking from a business perspective? Like lh_swe put it "I'd rather get myself hyped up about Uncharted 3, Gears 3 and Killzone 3 than Agent because I know what I like in those games and what the developers are capable of (more likely to turn out to be something I want to play) and I don't fault E3 for that. "

As a gamer I love sequels and in most cases I find them preferable to new IPs.

"Take off the fanboy glasses, too - Sony isn't paying you to defend their business interests."

Why do you accuse me of being a fanboy? Did I, in any way, attack the other systems? I didn't, I just mentioned PS3 games because the PS3 is the only system I own and I can't say if I like games on the other systems since I haven't played those games.

When people try to tell me that anything I purchased or I am interested in is a bad choice I of course try to defend my decision.

If liking my choice of hardware makes me a stupid fanboy in your eyes, then fine.

I still stand by my point, I find the article pointless and the points it makes bad.
