Elder Scrolls V To Be Announced At E3?

Abstract360.com Writes: "According to the most recent issue of Famitsu some companies still have many surprises planned for E3. Electronic Arts, Capcom, Konami, Square Enix, Sega, and Ubisoft among others confirmed that they still have unannounced surprises. One thing that stands out is Bethesda, who listed “secret” under their surprise category, and with The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion having been released March 20, 2006, the next installment in the franchise is overdue at just over four years since the last game. This would not be unsuspected as an issue of Official Xbox Magazine years ago reported that the next installment should release sometime around 2011." (Bethesda Softworks, E3, PC, PS3, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, The Elder Scrolls Online, Xbox 360)

I really hope this happens, cant wait for the next Elder Scrolls. Around 100 hours into Oblivion.

It was the game that got me into RPGs.
After a while I started thinking about how empty the game world actually was and how great it would be if it had multiplayer which is what lead me to search for MMORPGs and ultimately spendingn 2 to 3 years playing WoW.

Can't wait to get stuck into another Elder Scrolls game.

I know how you feel. It turned me into an RPG-lover as well. Now, my favorite games are all pretty much RPGs. In other words, Hell Yeah. Bring on the next Elder Scrolls.

I got at least 200+ hours in both Morrowind and Oblivion. I hope this is true.
sandip787  +   1631d ago
i spent
probably half that time just trying to kill the annoying fan!
F4sterTh4nFTL  +   1631d ago

I will always remember the Oblivion as the first 'next-gen' game I played. I recall being slightly disappointed with the graphics when you started out in the sewers, it just didn't do it for me. The moment I stepped out of the sewers... it was just like "HOOLLLLYYYY SHHHHHIIIIITTTT" the world just opened up with beautiful landscapes...

Not sure about this rumoured announcement though, I would have thought Bethesda would wait for the 'next gen' to release ES5, so they get another one of those HS moments?

Jesus Jumped Up Christ.
If they announce ESV at E3 I will, all at one time, 1) Crap my pants. 2)Have a small stroke. 3) Drop whatever I am holding. 4) Immediately check the vacation calender on my works FTP site and request the week of release off.

Morrowwind and Oblivion are hands down my favorite RPGs. I have spent hundreds of hours. When I lay in bed at night I hear the music that plays when a room is loading in Oblivion....

I still try to play Oblivion sometimes but I've beaten the game so many times, I even know what the characters are going to say half the time o_O

So yes, please announce a new Elder Scrolls!
sid4gamerfreak  +   1631d ago
please, please please please please Elder Scrolls 5. I can with no doubt say that elder scrolls IV was one of the best games ive played.
Faztkiller  +   1631d ago
I Hope so and It better not be an MMO Like was rumored I'll be pissed
BossKamikaze  +   1631d ago
I really REALLY hope this come's true!
Dramscus  +   1631d ago
Damn I'd have to buy another pc. Unless they opened the console versions up for mods.
That would be epic.
Modestmex  +   1631d ago
You mean upgrade.
Becko  +   1631d ago
Best RPG ever for me was Oblivion, second place Xenogears, third place FF6

I so really hope they announce Elder Scrolls V on this E3

If they still use the Gamebryo engine for ES5 I will be angry. Look at my avatar for details.

Very angry indeed.

I to will be rather annoyed if they use the same engine, it's starting to look rather dated.

At the very least it needs a major overhaul. When you have to rely on mods to remove frequent and heavy stuttering you know it needs changing.
likedamaster  +   1631d ago
You know you're right. I would at least consider it if they fixed the animations(something they said they're aware of).

No Thanks!
Garnett Lee said it best on 1UP Yours: "Oblivion is an unguided train wreck".
Ace Killa 08  +   1631d ago
well from the beginning of oblivion you are free to do wat ever you want, go on to the main quest or do what ever u want. but you would of known that if you played it.
Jerkstore81  +   1631d ago
I did play it. In fact I currently own it and it's been sitting on my shelves collecting dust. Game still sucks dude.
sandip787  +   1631d ago
i hope so too. I do think other RPGs do a lot of the aspects of the genre better, but elder scrolls seemed to meld it all together to have this allure to it that made it so amazing.

I'm going to be as happy as my avatar if this is true

Elder Scroll V is preaty much my most desired 3rd party game I expect to play on the next 4 years.
OMG <OMG OMG !!

I hope this is real !!

Oblivion was the game of this gen I played more then any other game on my PS3,Wii, DS or PSP plataforms .

In terms of hours of fun I had with it only Kz2, CoDMW2 and Fallout3 gets closer to half the time I have spent with Oblivion : )

MGOelite  +   1631d ago
i put 215+ hours into oblivion and believe it or not i never finished the main story mode, i never wanted to finish the last level so i did pretty much EVERY side quest
yamzilla  +   1631d ago
just make sure.......
its NEXT GEN!!!!

Do not release it on the 360 or PS3....release it on PC and Next Gen consoles....

NEW XBOX 720 FALL 2011

Following are LAUNCH titles;

Elder Scrolls 5
Modern Warfare 3
Halo 4
Resident Evil 6
Baulder's Gate 3
Some stupid game for sports people

If the industry was not run by money hungry donut punching pillow biters this would be reality

The Xbox 720 will really come out in 2011....but will not have this many awesome launch titles
arakouftaian  +   1631d ago
Well the games was cool but got boring
It's similar to Red Dead Redeption but read dead have many good
diferent kind of game play and much more fun.

If they create more wow moments and epic accion pieces
I may buy it.

Oh please GOD yes!
I want, No I NEED Elder scrolls 5!!!
VersusEM  +   1631d ago
Oh my god, Elder Scrolls V, I just can't wait to see how boring this game is. Surpisely I'd rather play one of the new sonic's at least those have a little excitment sometimes.

Elder Scrolls:Tempest
iamgoatman  +   1631d ago
I'd love to see a new Elder Scrolls announced, but I'm not going to get my hopes up. If it mentioned at E3 it will be a nice surprise.
Hazmat13  +   1631d ago
i hope i loved playing it on my Ps3 if they do release it on PC,360,PS3. please!!!
JAMurida  +   1631d ago
That would be a crazy announcement to hear. I spent way over 250+ hours on Oblivion, so it would only be natural for me to look forward to the next one.
AliTheBrit19  +   1631d ago
No! dammit I hate articles like this, just looking for hits.

Bethesda have very clearly and very publicly said that there will be no new announcements at E3 2010

Whats worse is, this website was fully aware of this, but still printed this poor excuse for gaming journalism.
Kamikaze8  +   1631d ago
Why else would they say its a "secret" surprise? They cant outright say that they are announcing a new game because then it would be too obvious. I dont know, Im still hopeful.
ticklechamp  +   1631d ago
I'm definitely ready for another Oblivion. Hopefully it is not glitchy like most Bethesda offerings.
1PC2PS33360  +   1631d ago
please say they won't
squander the glorious possibility of this game on the current weak gen of disposable hardware...........this game is destined for greatness....do not waste it on trash with 512mb ram.. and 256vram..lol......
Y0UNGmodern  +   1631d ago
Would be awesome but seriously needs a new engine!
I would love to see this done with the new cryengine! When I saw those tech demos of the new engine with the castle and it crumbling from being hit by catapults I was just like "OMFG they need to use this in the next elder scrolls or even fallout!" I just thinking it would look spectacular... mind you I really have no idea what their engine will look like on consoles I have high hopes. Also in the tech demo I remember seeing a character run through the woods I believe in third person and it looked fantastic.
CAPT_IRISH  +   1631d ago
please, i need a new elder scrolls game!
ElementX  +   1631d ago
This would be excellent news!
A LIVING LEGEND  +   1631d ago
Oblivion
Seemed inferior to it's predecessor.....in so many ways imo... 'graphics aside'
Very stoked for ES V either way, just remove the universal levelling nonsense and make the Blades cool again....oh and bring back the Morag Tong......SO much more interesting than the psychopathic brotherhood..
