Why is Microsoft visiting Kojima Productions?

Metal Gear Solid mogul Hideo Kojima tweeted and photographed a meeting with two Microsoft employees.

“Mr. Urata and Mr. Yonekura from Microsoft, Kojima Productions visit. I have a presentation to do,” Kojima posted on Twitpic. What kind of presentation? Perhaps, showing them Metal Gear Solid: Rising or Castlevania: Lords of Shadow. Both of those are multiplatform games coming out of Kojima Productions.

Better yet, Zone of the Enders 3 a 360 exclusive!... uh-oh... I'm sorry, that was a bad joke!

rockleex2731d ago

After the meeting, Kojima leaves to discuss the famed "confidential project" with Sony!!!

:P

Redrum0592730d ago

I feel like Microsoft is gonna fill in their E3 with multiplat stuff like last years E3.

ThanatosDMC2730d ago

Extremely bad joke. That's one game i dont want to see gimped.

CimmerianDrake2730d ago

If he were joking. AAACE5 really wants ZoE 3 to be a 360 exclusive.

It sounds like Kojima/Kojima Productions invited Microsoft over to check something out. I don't see why Nyc_Gamer is getting soo many agrees for that stupid comment. This is not Microsoft reaching out, it's Kojima reaching out to Microsoft hence the "I have a presentation to do"

I don't see why you'd want to present a multi platform game to a single platform company though. Maybe there's a new project in the works - maybe a Natal game. Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if it is a Natal game MS is probably funding and they are doing a periodical check-up which would make sense why a single platform company is going to see a presentation by a multi platform developer. It's like a manager showing CEOs a presentation about something they are doing for 'their' company.

He did afterall speak very highly about the device:

http://www.gamasutra.com/ph...

"like the 2D to 3D shift, or the first time that I ever played with Family Computer [NES]" - a major new step forward for the game industry."

But just an EyeToy right? right

Or maybe they will have something for the Microsoft E3 conference in which they need to check out the progress in time for the show.

Maybe it's MGS4? rofl

thereapersson2731d ago

Look at the posters in this article who are replying to him.

Also, I find it incredibly amusing how numerous fanboys consider the MGS series to be nothing but shallow gameplay and cutscenes, and yet you can tell they would cream their pants at the opportunity to play Kojima's games on their console.

darx2731d ago

Haven't played a Metal Gear game since '89.

CimmerianDrake2730d ago

"it's Kojima reaching out to Microsoft"

Are you kidding me? Why in the hell would Kojima reach out to Microsoft when he was EXTREMELY disappointed with Konami's decision to make MGS:R multiplat, and when he has emphatically stated that Peace Walker is the true continuation to the MGS story, which is on the PSP (run on sentences FTW)?

Kojima couldn't have said "I don't like Microsoft" more clearly if he actually came out and said "I don't like Microsoft". It isn't Kojima doing anything, it's Konami telling him he has to accommodate them. He may be their leading developer, but even he has to answer to someone.

Geez, I've never seen such a disgusting display of Microsoft love than in this thread. The delusions are immense.

probably more sells?? or kojima made a deal with microsoft dev.??

ZombieNinjaPanda2731d ago

@niceguywii60

I'll roll with the troll routine. Lolol.

So anyway, what makes you figure that they're going out of their way to get it onto the 360? Oh wait you only have one bubble left.

JokesOnYou2730d ago (Edited 2730d ago )

Clearly micro put a gun to Kojima's head and made him happily "tweet" about a presentation he's doing for them. lol, I mean its blatantly obvious now that since Kojima announced MGS Rising coming to 360, and Kojima's very positive views on Natal, and now with him tweeting about a private meeting he had with micro, all this could only mean Kojima has been kidnapped by the evil micro corporation and forced to work for them. Poor guy, he's only pretending to enjoy himself when he smiles and laughs in those fake interviews so that the torture will stop.

Very sarcastic & funny. +bubble

ThanatosDMC2730d ago

It's funny cuz it's true.

Stryfeno22730d ago

Agreed...There's a chip in Kojima's head. There's no way he wants to make more money.

badz1492730d ago

as ridiculous as THAT sounds, after the Episodes From Liberty City, it doesn't sounds so wrong either! maybe that's just how M$ rolls or this maybe a start of a new game for the western market! I guess we'll know about it in a few days

Megaton2730d ago (Edited 2730d ago )

Don't be surprised by Rising only showing up at Microsoft's E3 event, and them getting the exclusive ad rights when the game comes out. There will likely be a bundle too. It's the standard "please believe this is only on 360" package. Did the same thing with RE5 and FFXIII.

kunit22c2730d ago

Microsoft fanboys are soo ignorant, everytime they claim"OMGZZ GTInG EXCLSIV GAMEZZZ!1!" but then every time it turns out to be timed exclusive DLC or Game.
This ignorance from Microsoft fanboys is just crazy...

Double Toasted2730d ago

They want to hold their hand for the version of their console, duh. Thats one thing MS has done well this gen, make sure the game runs superior on their console.

vhero2730d ago

How about they are there trying to get footage for there presentation at E3 for the new Raiden game?? Can't people look past the plainly obvious? I mean does there have to be suspicion in everything these days?

MAR-TYR-DOM2731d ago (Edited 2731d ago )

They want to know why after paying so much money to Kojima Production to have them develop MGS:R for the 360, Hideo Kojima himself is not working on the game and has chosen to put more attention towards a psp game. LOL

Joking aside, according to the Article, it was just to see the multi plat games that are being developed. They just want to see the progress, maybe for some E3 content.
