Crackdown 2 development 'hasn't gone smoothly'
Speaking to CVG recently, Cope said he's "seriously worried" about the dev team's health

wow,no wonder way Insomniac stood with Sony for over than 14 years.

They must be sick now since they went multiplatform. Looks like healthcare wasn't working at sony. :D

Ha Ha Ha. No.
OutgoingSquall  +   1820d ago
So your saying they were sick for fourteen years? You fail that comment made no sense.

Swing and a miss.

This is one of my most anticipated titles this year, and from the looks of it, it's being spoilt.... I really hope they don't rush it and can make it just as good as the first, if not......... BETTER!!

That explains why the game looks like a last generation game.

there is a big difference between linear and open world games

@ Dance

RDR, Unfamous, to name a few are open world games and they look next gen, so the open world excuse is lame.
Al Bundy  +   1820d ago
Also, Assassin's Creed 1 & 2 and GTA4 are open world games and they look great so your excuse of their being a difference in open world and linear games is lame and a fail.
Arnon  +   1820d ago
I wonder if RDR, inFAMOUS, Assassin's Creed and GTA IV had hundreds of enemies on screen at once all while running 4-player co-op.

crackdown 1 really was a bad game to me
Dance  +   1820d ago
how about giving the hardworking developers a little credit

I agree... but it's not like theyre doing it for free.

it was
U Are not wrong...only reason people bought it was for that halo 3 beta...Not to mention the story was super whack or lack there of
ShiftyLookingCow  +   1820d ago
I doubt you guys actually played the game. That game was great to play when it came out in 2007 as there was nothing like back then. I loved the superhuman abilities and orb collecting.
catguykyou  +   1820d ago
The hardworking developers that made crackdown probably should of tried a little harder because Crackdown was pretty mediocre, with some good ideas. The sequel which should refine those ideas into a good game (EXP: Assasins Creed II)just looks like it is still lacks the polish. I give those devs the rightful credit of making a mediocre game.

Crackdown 2
I enjoyed Crackdown 1 a lot and expect a lot from Crackdown 2. Open world multi-player with those explosions will be epic.

It's so bad it give's you cancer.

It would have been nice to include the Halo Reach beta on the Crackdown 2 disc as they did with Halo 3 on the original Crackdown.

I really hope they've done a good job with Crackdown 2. Crackdown 1 was a really great game - one of my faves.

So it seemed simple just to tweak all the flaws in the 1st and dial everything else up to 11 in the sequel! But I'm a little concerned about this zombie/infected angle they have taken.
ATLGAMER  +   1820d ago
the first one was so good....
NOT ... below average not horrible...great ideas implemented boringly...

I loved the first Crackdown. As a fan of the series, though, the game looks a bit too much of a "more of the same" kind of game. That would normally be fine with me, but this game got bland faster than I hoped so more of the same could mean the same fun factor, which didn't last.

Oh, and I hope they updated the climbing in this! Make it more like inFamous. I mean, I know Cole was into Parkour, so that's why he was a good climber, but you can always say the Crackdown guys were trained to Parkour.... idk, just a thought :D
BeaArthur  +   1820d ago
Nice to hear that they were working that hard. Hopefully it will pay off with a great game. Really enjoyed the first Crackdown.
Rucury  +   1820d ago
What's up with the graphics of this game...?

They look blurry and... last-gen-ish.

Never played Crackdown 1, but the premise sounds fun.
Jack Klugman  +   1820d ago
duplicate story is duplicate.. This was already covered in the first CVG article

But hey, let's pull this quote out of context, make a headline about it and get the hits!!!!

and before the sony troll brigade come rushing in he is talking about setting up a new studio and the doing a game at the same time. It has nothing to do with the development cycle of game having problems.

crackdown 1 is still one of the best sandbox games this generation.. and this new one looks like the best cell shaded game ive seen.

I haven't noticed. /s
The game looks like it's running on the PS2......Although it is running on the 360 which isn't much different. >_>
Counter Strike  +   1820d ago
Crackdown isnt about graphics... RDR and AC2 are the best open world games out there with the best graphics.
JANF  +   1820d ago
All games are about graphics. Graphics + gameplay = excellent game.
Gamingisfornerds  +   1820d ago
The first one was immensly fun and addictive
The game just doesn't get enough credit for it (see most above messages). Sure, it had its issues, but the core gameplay was spot on. Orb collecting and ability progression is like no other game out there.

But, I have to say that I have lost respect for the developers for using the same city again. Sure it's gotten a few adjustments, but we've all seen the comparison shots and many areas have even got the exact same geometry with a visual downgrade to boot.

THAT is just unacceptable.
