IGN: Who Should Direct The Mass Effect Movie?

The dense, action-packed Mass Effect universe is perfect for taking to the big screen, and the people behind The Dark Knight and 300 are going to take it there. We hope they listen to our wish-list of directors - if they know what's good for 'em. And Mass Effect fans? Yeah, send us your suggestions in the comments

I second that. Uwe Boll is a master of the craft. He is the next Martin Scorsese. His films are riveting. He is - okay I cannot continue to lie like this.

Maybe Bioware should create a film using the game engine. They can work on creating fluid animations and using higher textures and assets.

As long as yvonne strahovski is in it i will watch it.

movements2759d ago

Me, movememts should direct the darn thing! I'd surely do a better job than Uwe Boll. Agree? Bubble up!

ryuzu2759d ago

IT doesn't matter games -> film are crap... Just get a hamster to direct it.

ME has a lame story by modern sci fi standards too so there's two reasons a film will blow hard.

r.

Nitrowolf22759d ago

dude i could direct better then Uwe if i had the money lol
Yeah Movie games are typicaly crap

when was teh last decent movie game????

I don't see the point in the fanwanking.

We all know it's going to be another inept action flick. That's what all game/cartoon/anime adaptations turn out to be.

They don't respect the source material and they don't think anything but the most mindless scripts will recoup their big budget special effects. I can't be positive about this. They have let me down too many times already.

Joss Whedon would be my pick. Anyone that has seen "Serenity" knows what I'm talking about. He made a movie about "Space Cowboys" work and work well. He also did wonders on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel" so I would pick him above the rest.

Cenobia2759d ago

I don't think Serenity was that well directed or even that good a story (neither were the other 2 series). It was fan service for those who enjoyed the TV series. I think that people who never saw the film would probably have difficulty following it.

Of course when I think directing I think cinematography and I can't think of any of his series being shot in any particularly interesting way. Then again I kind of didn't like any of that stuff if you haven't picked up on that yet.

Cowboy Bebop (although an anime with a retarded name) was much better imo. And I loved Farscape when it was out.

wonders?....ok, small standards for wonders you have =P

Serenity was quite cool though, I'll give you that...the rest...no =P

SupeerSteebbi2759d ago

I don't know who should direct it but I think that Roberto Orci & Alex Kurtzman should write the script for sure. Ofcourse this is only my opinion.

david lynch (Dune). he knows epic science fiction

ridley scott (alien, blade runner).

i want a serious film, not popcorn sci-fi bs.

Timesplitter142759d ago

I don't think David Lynch is the kind of person who would direct a video game movie...
