I just wish Nintendo would allow MS to do Goldeneye

BakedGoods2730d ago

They're competitors. Why would Nintendo facilitate 360 profits? A fair trade would allow Nintendo and Microsoft to share the profits of a re-release, but I can't imagine MS doing that--they're the greedy ones.

Elven62730d ago

From what I remember reading before, the game was in development for both the Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii as an XBLA/WiiWare port but Nintendo changed the contract and no one could agree anymore.

Good call: http://www.1up.com/do/newsS...

Tough to say if it was Nintendo. Article states they both couldn't reach an agreement.

I know I hate how greedy Nintendo is. I read that Microsoft wanted this out for both the virutal console for the wii and also for XBLA but Nintendo didn't want that they wanted it all to themselves. It's just dumb and it was already done they should have just released it. I would love to play Goldeneye with better graphics.

mikeslemonade2730d ago

HAHA so Microsoft bought Rare for $375 million and all they can come up with is PDZ, Viva Pinata, Kameo, and these classic games. What a dumb transaction...

i think theyd also have to deal with activision since they currently own the james bond game liscense. It would be way to complicated and expensive to do now.

AAACE52730d ago

If there wasn't so much legal crap, they would have released Goldeneye already! Nintendo has to approve it, MS has to approve it and whoever owns the liscense right now has to approve it! I think there might be someone else who has to approve it as well.

They have other games that could do well though. I believe RARE can make a comeback. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if MS was ok with Bungie becoming independent because RARE was finally ready to step up to the plate.

PirateThom2730d ago (Edited 2730d ago )

Nintendo, Microsoft, Activision and, probably, MGM/United Artists for movie references on a new platform (as an aside, Sony own 20% of MGM).

TheSanchezDavid2730d ago

There are so many great titles that they could port. I doubt they ever will, because Microsoft has yet to do anything big with Rare since they partnered up nearly a decade ago.

N4GAddict2730d ago

True, Rare hasn't been the same.

HolyOrangeCows2730d ago

They lost my respect with Nuts and Bolts. I never thought someone could take the Banjo-Kazooie series and make it so slow and boring.

N4GAddict2730d ago

I want Jet Force Gemini.

BakedGoods2730d ago (Edited 2730d ago )

It's about time MS got burnt simply buying companies rather than allowing young ones to grow and build talent (ala Naughty Dog, Guerilla).

At this point, the best thing Rare could do would be to port old classics. Given they can get the rights, I bet they'll make a few bucks doing it.

NecrumSlavery2730d ago

RARE and MS have put nothing of any quality since they have come together. RARE is about as done as ever.

If anything gets an HD remake, it should be GoldenEye007.
