Reaction: Moore's departure "a huge loss for Xbox"

A day after Microsoft's Peter Moore announced his resignation, the video game industry sounds off on the move and if it will affect gamers in any way.

Geoff Keighley, a Spike TV host, thinks Microsoft's image will take a hit from losing Moore. "This is a huge loss for Xbox... Gamers will no doubt wonder what this means for the future of the platform. Xbox 360 will be fine. Peter's not the visionary behind the platform, but he was the voice and the soul of that whole division of Microsoft and the public cheerleader. Xbox will continue on without Peter, but I have a feeling that his departure will knock some wind out of the platform," he said.

For a start its ea sports and all there sports games suck all just rehash's every year with better gfx.

You can have ea sports exclusives for all i care only sport game im interested in is football and pro evo embarrases EA

nobizlikesnowbiz3474d ago

LOL all EA sports games suck?

I thought they had like the best-selling sports games of all time, but I could be wrong.

<EDIT>

Madden is great man. I don't care what you say.

NCAA is good too. But Madden is a way of life for some people.

rev203474d ago (Edited 3474d ago )

That would be cos they have a monopoly on sports games of all genre's
owning all the player licensing etc, so no one really challenges them bar pro evo which walks all over it ^^

get extra love from pete at EA.The 360 was his baby.
EDIT:Funny Sonydroids have to disagree.I think it's a simple thing
called fear for their ps3s behalf.

Business is business and Pete's loyalties lie with who has his next paycheck. He didn't remain loyal to Sega and trying to get their games on his platform. He wasn't trying to help Sega. Now he's moving on to EA and something tells me, he won't give a crap about Microsoft anymore.

KingJFS3473d ago

Considering all of the support Sega threw behind the original Xbox and all of the support they continue to give the 360 (Condemned, VF5 with online play, Chromehounds) I'd say you might to reconsider that.

Old Pete definitely called in a few favors with his old friends at Sega.

You mean like the way Ken K effected the PS brand lol. I'm sure theres some PS3 threads to check out theres plenty of them infact they flood the site.

LOL...

DJ3474d ago

Ken planned to retire at the age of 60, and did so in a respectable manner. On the other hand, Peter Moore quit without warning. The Xbox brand has been going through a lot of turmoil, and Peter isn't the first, nor second Executive to show a lack of confidence in this company.

yeah it seem peter escaping the 360 before somethin happens..

and xbots need to stop talkin about exclusive comin from peter..its just none sense...
