Jesus. There’s no need for this. Spanish site Meristation’s rumouring that the game Sega recently signed an Unreal Engine license extension for is Shenmue III, and that the game will be on show in some form at E3 2010.
Same rumour every year, this is from last year http://rightnreal.com/rumou...
I was going to say the same thing
This is absolute BS and does NOT deserve to be on the front page. Thanks to TOO PAWNED we can clearly see this nonsense has no real grounds. Both the rumors from 2009 and 2010 have the EXACT SAME WORDING with only the E3 date changed from "2009" to "2010". What is this nonsense?
Sadly it's heating up.
This site must LOVE Shenmue to death. Analogy: "She'll come back, I'm sure of it! She'll definitely be back by morning." A year later... "For SURE she's gonna come back. This is the same day we met 5 years ago. She'll definitely be reminded of me and she'll start to miss me. She probably might even call right now!" :(
bubbles for your research!
Sony Can't Drop This Many Bombs in 1 Month!
Yep I call BS
I mean sure there was the same rumor last year but something probably caused a delay for it (like UE3 was being made at the time). Now this seems possible especially with this news story that we got in April of this year... http://www.gofanboy.com/go-...
Something about this seems too good to be true... I call this Rumor a giant troll on all of us.
This 'rumor' is from the year 2008... http://www.meristation.com/...
Everything can happen, but, nah...
Shenmue III would NOT use the Unreal Engine 3. Back when the originals released they were the top graphical games. Why would they make it on a third party engine, nevermind the Unreal Engine's PS3's troubles
Shenmue III possibly... but as soon as I read running on unreal engine, I LOL!!! almost got me there you devil you!!
Mass Effect was an URE3 game
Lol @ rikatsu getting 16 disagrees. Yall lame
If this was true that would make me so happy! Shenmue series was amazing along with everything else on the dream cast. But this is extremely unlikely. Unfortunate :(
killzone 3+ shenmue 3= boom! e3 win for sony.
I haven't played the old ones, but I can already see a lot of people jumping in joys if this is true. The fact that Shenmue 3 is even in development is enough to make those guys happy. Edit. The info. didn't even say anything about the PS3. How did this game became exclusive all of a sudden? I don't believe this. @below Huh? What makes you think I'm the infamous troll Bungie? Or are you pulling this accusation out of your ass like your post in this whole article?
How many account do you have Bungie?
Like they know for a fact that you the same guy with the same account
Say what? Sounds good and all but why the UE? If anything I find there Yakuza engine perfect for it since the series is similar to some extent to Shenmue. Maybe trying to appeal to westerners? If so then strike one for them.
smooth out the fighting engine push it as a kind of martial arts Mass Effect and actually have good voice acting... it'd sell and if it's on URE3 then no reason not to use the latest and greatest... so hair wouldn't look like trash and it could run the gambit from PS360 to PC... no need to limit the game... I say remake all the games from the start to the finish with this style... most retards haven't even played this gem
If true, and that's a big "if", it would probably one of the biggest announcements of the show, especially if there's "HD versions" of the first two games. And, I wouldn't rule it out, Yakuza is a spiritual successor to Shenmue and those have stayed exclusive.
Sorry but Yakuza sucks compared to Shenmue games. IT doesnt have soul that Shenmue games had.
Let's not get confused, Shenmue was/is a boring tedious overhyped peice of sh*t (and this coming from one of the die-hard dreamcast fans). Shenmue 2 is a little less boring, but less successful.
except shenmue 2 was an exclusive for xbox (well the updated version anyway). and if the runmors of people reporting dreamcast games coming to xbox live are true, then i highly doubt shenmue 3 would be exclusive. SEGA know shenmue isnt a big seller and they need it on as many systems as they can get it on.
The original Shenmue still sold over a million copies from what I'm hearing but with a $70 million budget you'd have to sell at least double that to break even. I don't know how Shenmue II had sold though and I doubt it was ever made public asides from the Japanese figures?
Shenmue 1 and 2 were originally released for the DREAMCAST. you know, the console made by SEGA, between the PS1 and the PS2? "xbox exclusive" yeah right...
The game is Xbox exclusive in North America since the Dreamcast version was never officially released here.
but if it happens, Sony won e3
I agreed with you but i don't believe there is anything like "winning" E3.
