IGN: State of Play: Attack of the Sequels

Ever since he put The Lord of the Rings into production specifically as a trilogy of movies, everybody in the entertainment industry has started planning for the trilogy before they've actually earned it. Gaming in particular latched onto this, because adding new maps and levels to existing engines and graphics is a no-brainer when you've spent $30 million or more on a single product.

The story is too old to be commented.

Activision is milking more cows than a farm.

Its sad really. Sequels are something to look forward to, not be suffocated with in the space of 12 months.
