IGN: The Best Star Wars Games Ever Made

This week marks the 30th anniversary of the theatrical release of Star Wars: the Empire Strikes Back, a sci-fi romp so outstanding that it looms large above its fellow films in the series, even three decades later. Empire changed everything, and its box office success helped cement Star Wars as a cultural phenomenon that reached every corner of the popular culture. And nowhere has George Lucas's hand reached farther beyond the big screen than into the world of videogames.

The story is too old to be commented.

That's quite the upset; Star Wars: KOTOR is usually considered to be unmatched. Then again, I haven't played TIE Fighter.

From what experience I do have playing Star Wars games, KOTOR is the best I've ever played.

For sheer pick-up-and-play fun, I'd go with the original Star Wars arcade game by Atari. Great looking vector graphics, fun gameplay, voice samples from the movie (a pretty big deal in 1982), and an awesome controller made for a great Star Wars experience.
