5 most sexy, satisfying ejections in gaming

Matt Cundy, GamesRadar UK writes:

The eject button is an integral part of most game consoles. Without the eject button we wouldn't be able to get games back out of the machine again. So it's pretty important. Whenever I acquire a new console, I don't check the specs to see how many multi-flexing quadrapongs of processing power are buried inside. That's stuff I don't understand. And as long as the games are good, I don't really care. What I do care about is the eject button and the action of ejection.

In celebration of this often neglected console operation, here are the 5 console ejections that have satisfied me the most over the years.

Have to say, my two favourite are the PS3 slim and the SNES.

DS though was fun at times, holding down the spring-loaded cartridge and then firing it out of the slot at an unsuspecting person can be purile fun.

I love the PS3 phat ejection. It just feels so... futuristic.

Hated the system on the PSOne and PS2 slim. That just felt boring.

Danteh2652d ago

I loved the SNES one, that thing almost broke my teeth every time I pressed the button :D

And also the topic doen't have a sex innuendo at all

Because to get a game out of the slot, I have to tickle it. Ok, I don't HAVE to, but that's the joy of touch-sensitive buttons. ^_^

Hilarious. I must have a fan - The Phantom Disagreer strikes again! ;)

The guy likes the ejection of the Slim PS3 but not the Fat one?

kharma452652d ago

The tactile feedback from the button on the slim is probably why he put it down rather than the fat model.

PirateThom2652d ago

Aww, but the touch sensitive buttons on the phat are awesome!

tdogchristy902652d ago

something I've always wondered about on my ps3. On the console itself you have two buttons, the center button which ejects and the button on the right that turns on off? I always turn my ps3 on/off using the controller....but I find even if I wanted to I can't turn it off using the button on the front of the console.

eggbert2652d ago

You just hold the button down for a few seconds. Console should shut off.

raptorjacob2652d ago

@ tdog
did you try holding down the power button for a few seconds?

ALFAxD_CENTAURO2652d ago (Edited 2652d ago )

The PS3 Power Button, is designed to not turn off at moment when you press the Power button, you need to hold 2 seconds.

Besides, is multi functional that Power Button.

The normal function is to touch and hold the Power button for 2 seconds, you will hear the first beep, again to power on.

Continue to hold the Power button and after about 5 seconds, you will hear a second beep for video reset.

Continue to hold the Power button and after about another 5 seconds you will hear a quick double beep. At that point release the Power button. If you succeeded in activating Safe Mode, you will see a message on the screen saying, ''Connect the controller using a USB cable and then press the PS button''

And More functions, but when the PS3 is turned on, there are more options in the Power Button.

PS3 is a computer.

Phat has a better eject than the slim. Just feels sleeker.

But, this article just goes to show what kind of things people will write on slow news days.

Milky Joe2652d ago

What are you talking about, this is exactly the sort of piss-take article I love!!

cyborg69712652d ago

I miss my phat the eject was hott and would make me pitch a tent shortly after touching it. But I think it was more the youporn than the ejecting action itself.

PS360_372652d ago

Havent seen or heard the slim ejection, but the phat is pretty slick.

table2652d ago (Edited 2652d ago )

gotta have the ps1 there, maybe not an official ejection but I could click the eject button and then push the lid back down all day... and I just might.

Ocelot5252652d ago (Edited 2652d ago )

haha me too, the lit made such a satisfying sound

ReBurn2652d ago

I've never ejected a disc from a slim PS3, only my 60GB model. Is it really that much more satisfying?

Pennywise2652d ago

Not really, you push it down instead of touch sensor. Its still slick, just not as slick.
