The Portable Gamer: Backflip Studios have been nothing if not interesting to follow – they’ve achieved some massive successes with Paper Toss and the Ragdoll Blaster series in particular, and Harbor Havoc 3D, which hasn’t exactly seen the massive popularity that the former games have achieved.
MacWorld: Strike Knight looks to recreate the puck bowling game you might find down at your local tavern. And it does a pretty good job of it, from the gleaming wood of the playing surface to the neon bar lights in the background.
On a lane that’s much shorter than those found in 10 Pin Shuffle, you are required to flick a puck toward a set of pins, knocking down as many as possible. Like bowling, each game lasts 10 frames. Knocking down all pins on the first flick scores a strike, while picking up the final pins on a second flick records a spare. The game differs from bowling in the way that strikes and spares are actually scored.

Backflip Studios, the company that brought us such massive hits such as Paper Toss and Ragdoll Blaster, has released their latest game into the App Store. Strike Knight is a casual flicking game based on real life puck bowling arcade games of the 80s and 90s.
We met with Backflip Studios during this year's GDC where they had an early build of Strike Knight. The game is free ad-supported game that follows the basic structure of bowling but places you in control of a puck. Like their insanely popular Paper Toss game, Strike Knight is controlled using the simple flicking motion to send your puck hurtling towards the pins.
